Цель и задачи урока: развивать умения и навыки обучающихся вести беседу по заданной теме, уметь высказывать свое мнение, совершенствовать навыки работы с текстом в зависимости от целевых устанок. Воспитательная цель: развивать у учащихся экологическое мышление, уметь ценить природу и окружающий мир.

Урок английского языка в 7 классе по теме « We must protect the Environment»

     Задачи урока: проконтролировать умения и навыки уч-ся вести беседу, высказывая  свое мнение по теме, прививать школьникам любовь и уважительное отношение к природе.

   Цель урока: Совершенствовать навыки работы учащихся средних  классов с текстами в зависимости от целевых установок.

    Воспитательная цель: Развивать у учащихся экологическое мышление, умение ценить окружающий мир, умение ощущать себя неотъемлемой частью окружающего мира.

   Учебные задачи урока:

Активизировать лексику  по теме в чтении и в речи учащихся.

Организовать работу с текстом “People start pollution. - People can stop it” с целью изучающего чтения.

      Начало урока. Приветствие. Введение в тему урока.

      Teacher: Good-afternoon, guys. The topic of our lesson is  “We must protect our environment”.

 Today we are going to discuss the problem of environmental protection. You know that people all over the world are worried about our environment. The issue of ecology is important. Our district is nice and beautiful. But there are some ecological problems in our area. What are they?

P5: Trees are cut down.

P6: Birds and animals are frightened.

Teacher: You are right. All these problems are very serious and important. Please look at the drawings which some of our pupils have brought to our lesson (учитель демонстрирует заранее приготовленные творческие работы учащихся).

    Paper comes from trees. If we don’t recycle paper, a lot of trees are destroyed. The countryside is spoiled. People cut down trees. Fires are started. We like flowers very much, but people shouldn’t pick wild flowers. If trees are destroyed and people pick flowers and grass, birds and animals may become extinct. People, don’t harm plants!

 

   We leave litter near the river. The water is polluted and the fish in the river die. People, help to keep all water clean!

 

   Many years ago our pond was deep and wide. My friend and I used to fish a lot. Now we like fishing too. But some people use such things for fishing which kill animals. People, protect animals and fish!

  Today different kinds of trees and flowers  are disappearing. Each of us must do everything possible to protect nature. Children, plant trees and flowers!

 

   There are many animals and birds in our district. We should not make noise. Birds and animals are frightened of it. Children, take care of birds and animals!

 

   Every spring I see rubbish near our village. I think that  country people do it. They throw away old things, paper, clothes, toys, bottles and plastic bags. Maybe they don’t know the 3R rules: reduce reuse and recycle. It’s a pity! People, take litter home!

 

Teacher: Guys, I’ve just got a letter from the President of the Clean up  the Countryside Society in our district. He gives us some information and suggests some important rules to protect environment. Listen to him and fill in the answers to the questions. (Работа по карточкам).

     Hello, I’m the President of the Clean up the Countryside Society in our district. You know that polluted air, water and land are harmful to plants, animals and

people. As a result of our investigations we have found out that the district is polluted.  60% of air pollution is caused by the gas compressing station and by

different means of transport: cars, trucks and buses. Modern lifestyle, in which people do less exercises, use cars instead of walking, watch TV for many hours and work with computers is leading us to catastrophe.

     We have to do something about this. Let us to set up our own “Clean up the Countryside Society for Children”. Its members will take part in actions for cleaning up, trees and flowers planting, protecting wildlife and organizing outdoor activities.

Teacher: We have already spoken about ecology and the importance of keeping the environment clean. Pollution is getting worse and worse. But there is always hope.

P17: We could design the posters telling people about ecological problems.

Teacher: Let’s work with the text about the environmental situation on our planet. We shall work with the words properly. You will do some other tasks.

PEOPLE START POLLUTION. - PEOPLE CAN STOP IT.

The pollution of the land, air and water is the problem of civilization. It is one of the greatest dangers on the Earth. Ecological problems are deforestation, ozone holes, acid rains and the global warming.

The seas are in danger. They are filled with industrial wastes and pesticides.

Every 10 minutes one kind of animal, plant or insect dies out for ever.

Air pollution is a very serious problem. In Cairo breathing the air is equivalent to smoking two packs of cigarettes a day.

Plants and factories make the greenhouse effect.

The greater problem is nuclear power stations. We all know Chernobyl tragedy. People are beginning to realize the environmental problems. They join international organizations and green parties. All states ought to save the Earth from an ecological catastrophe.
