1. The UK is an absolute monarchy.

2. The closest continental neighbours of Great Britain are France and Belgium.

3. The island of Great Britain consists of main four parts: England, Wales,       Scotland and Northern Ireland.

4. England is divided into counties.

5. The highest mountain top of Britain is Ben Nevis in Scotland.

6. Vast deposits of oil and gas were discovered in the North Sea.

7. London is more than 10 centuries old.

8. There are three main parts in London.

9. Trafalgar Square is considered to be the geographical center of London.

10. A group of ravens live at the Tower. The tradition goes that if they  disappear the Tower will be conquered.

11. St. Paul’s Cathedral, designed by Christopher Wren, is the masterpiece of architecture.

12. Admiral Nelson was killed in the battle of Trafalgar but won a victory.

13. The 25th of  January is celebrated all over the world by Scotsmen wherever they are, as it is a birthday of Robert Burns.
