Reading Strategies: Gapped sentences in the text Read the whole text to get the general idea Look at the missing sentences and read the paragraphs with gaps carefully Find sentences with the same topic as the paragraphs Make sure the sentence fits in with the sentence before and/or after it. Look for references back and forward (e.g. time references, pronoun references, related topics).
