«Seasons and Weather»

Тема урока : «Seasons and Weather»

             Цели урока: развивать умения монологической и диалогической

                 речи по теме урока, развивать умения чтения и аудирования,

                 активизировать изученную лексику и грамматику, развивать

                 память и умение логично высказываться по теме.

            Оборудование урока: картинки с изображением разных времён года,

             карточки с загадками, аудиозапись музыкального произведения

             П.И.Чайковского «Времена года», ватман и фломастеры.

                                                    Ход урока.

1. Организационный момент и приветствие. Сообщение темы и целей урока. Good morning, dear friends! Glad to see you! Today we’ll have a competition on topic “Seasons and Weather”. I will divide you into two teams. The first team will include the children who were born in winter and autumn. The second team will include the children who was born in summer and spring. You should choose the captains and give names for your teams.

Now, it’s time for the captains to introduce the teams.

  ( “Snowflakes” and “Raindrops”)

2. Речевая зарядка.

Look at the pictures and describe them one by one. You’ll get as many points as many sentences you’ll say.

3.  Gues the riddles:

          1) This month brings the snow.
                   Makes our feet and fingers glow. (January)
              2) Cold month brings us skating.
                   The New Year we are waiting. (December)
               3) This month snows again,
                  And sometimes it brings us rain. (February)
               4) Red brings us joy?
                  Fun for every girl and boy. (November)
               5) This month brings sunny days and winds,
                  So we know that spring begins. (March)
               6) This month brings much fruit,
                   Then to gather them is good. (October)
                7) This month brings the primrose sweet,
                     We see daises at our feet. (April)
                 8) This warm month brings us school,
                     Days are shorter, nights are cool. (September)
                 9) This month brings flowers, joy and grass
                    And the holiday for us. (May)
                10) This month brings us golden corn,
                   Then the harvest home is born. (August)
                11) This hot month brings apples and cherries,
                   And a lot of other berries. (July)
                12) This month brings tulips, lilies,roses,
                  Fills the children’s hands with posies. (June)

4. Poems.

What poems about weather and seasons do you know? Let’s recite them and get points.

5. Provebs about the weather.

 Do you know any English proverbs connected with the weather? Now look at the blackboard. There are 5 English proverbs about the weather: Let’s translate them.

1. After rain comes fair weather. После ненастья наступает хорошая погода. Ср. Не всё ненастье, будет и красное солнышко.

2. Rain at seven, fine at eleven. В 7 часов дождь, а в 11-ясно. (Семь  пятниц на неделе)

          3. There’s no bad weather, there are bad clothes- Плохой погоды нет,

          есть   плохая одежда.

         4. Into every life a little rain must fall.-В каждой жизни должно быть

           хоть   немного дождя.  (В каждой бочке меда есть ложка дёгтя)

         5.Everything is good in it’s season-Всему своё время.

          6.Развитие навыков диалогической речи. 

English people like to speak about the weather. Almost all their conversation they begin like this:                                                                                                                                                                - Lovely day, isn’t it?  - Nasty day, isn’t it?                                                                                                                                  Make up a short conversation about the weather.

Dialogue № 1:

- Fine day today, isn’t it?

- Yes, simply wonderful!

Dialogue № 2:

- What beastly weather we are having!

- Yes, it’s terrible.

Dialogue № 3:

- It has been raining cats and dogs since morning!

- Yes, and there is no sign of the rain stopping.

Dialogue № 4:

- Will it clear up, do you think?

- Who knows? You never can tell…

Dialogue № 4:

- What lovely weather we are having!

- Yes, indeed. I hope it will last.

Dialogue № 5:

- Is it still raining?

- Oh, it’s simply pouring – a real shower.

Dialogue 6.

- I am sick and tired of this rain. I am already wet to the skin.

- Well, what can you expect? It’s always like this in this season.

7. Развитие навыков монологической речи.  

Let’s make posters about different seasons and make a story about your favorite season. You’ve got all you need for your work at your desks.

You can use the following plan:

                       Our favorite season is …

                   The months of this season are …

                   We can see (there are) in …

                   The sky is …

                   The sun is …

                   The weather is …

                   People can … in ….

                   The temperature is something like …centigrade above (below) zero.

8. And now let’s listen to the music for a change.

            Guess what month is it?  

9.     Подведение итогов работы на уроке.
