 Внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку по теме

 « День Святого Валентина»

Зал украшен праздничными плакатами в виде сердец, воздушными шарами и открытками - валентинками.

Под звуки музыки выходят ведущие и рассказывают об истории праздника  

P1.   Valentine`s day is a sentimental and romantic holiday. It is the day of sweethearts.

  P2. There are many legends about St. Valentine. The popular symbol of the day is Cupid, the Roman God of love. On February 14, he was killed. Cupid was Christian and married couples contrary the laws of the Roman Empire.

  P1. Whatever the origin Valentine`s Day is celebrated in many parts of the world and is a holiday for both young and old.

  P2.              I have a little valentine

                     That someone sent to me.

                     It`s pink and white,

                     And red and blue,

                    And pretty as can be.

  P1.                     Forget- me- not

                           Are round the edge,

                           And tiny roses too.

                           And such a lovely piece of lace

                           The very palest blue.

                            There`s a heart

    P1. In the past young people tried to make their wishes come true. The names of the Romans girls were written on slips of paper and put into a jar. Each young man drew a slip. The girl whose name he drew was to be his sweetheart for a girl.

    P2. Would you like to know the name of your sweetheart for a year?  Take a slip of paper and read a name of a girl. ( Мальчики вытягивают из кувшина свернутый листочек бумаги с женским именем)                                                                                          

    P1. In Germany the girls planted onions on St.Valentine`s Day. They thought they would marry the man whose onion sprouted first.

    P2. The ornaments that decorated valentines are symbols of love and friendship.

( Ведущие демонстрируют символы праздника: веер, ленточки, кружева,рис, кольцо, монеты, красную варежку) Each has a special meaning. A fan means `Open my heart`. A ribbon means `You are my girl` or `You are tied up`. Lace means `You have caught my heart in a net`. Rice means a wedding. A ring- a wedding too. A coin means the person would marry someone wealthy. Red mitten- young man doesn`t like you.

Fortune tree. ( На столе красиво оформлено дерево судьбы: на ветках разноцветные листочки , свернутые и привязанные красивыми ленточками. Желающие подходят, выбирают, снимают понравившийся листочек и зачитывают свое  предсказание )

     Song.( Исполняется песня о любви на английском языке из репертуара  группы Битлз)

     P1. Hearts are the most romantic symbols of this day. Let`s play `Heart Game` We need 5 boys and 5 girls.( Проводится игра, в которой участвуют 5 девушек и 5 мальчиков. Они соединяют разрезанные сердца вместе по названиям цветка, тем самым определяются 5 пар, которые отвечают на вопросы об известных влюбленных парах, вслепую рисуют сердце, исполняют танец с бумажными сердцами)

   Цели урока:

Активизировать речевые навыки учащихся и способность последовательно и убедительно доказать свою точку зрения по обсуждаемой проблеме.

Задачи урока:

1. Совершенствовать навыки говорения в умении высказаться логично и связно.
2.    Развивать логическое понимание путем содержательного поиска и смыслового выбора при чтении.
3. Стимулировать учащихся выражать свое отношение к обсуждаемой проблеме.
4. Воспитывать чувство бережного отношения к природе.

Оборудование урока:

1 Таблица грамматическая.

2.Магнитофон.

3 Рисунки учащихся.

4 Альбом об организациях охраны окружающей среды.

5 Открытки с видами озера Байкал.

6Открытки исчезающих видов.

7 Коробка с предметами, подлежащими утилизации.

8 Раздаточный материал с упражнениями и текстом.

9 Карта мира.

Ход урока

Hello, my friends. How are you? And how is our planet? Why do you think so?

Yes, you are right. How big and beautiful our Earth is. We love our planet, its green fields and vast forests, mountains, rivers and lakes. But all creatures, big or small that live on our Earth need your help. The protection of nature has become one of the most important problems of the 20th century.

This is a subject I want you to work today. Let’s begin our work. You are divided into two groups and each group has a leader. Will you introduce yourselves?

---Our group is called ”A snowdrop”. It is a beautiful spring flower. Spring comes after a long winter sleep and we can see many wonderful flowers in the fields and forests. We mustn’t pick  up flowers.

• Our group is called “Friends of animals”. Help nature! And nature will help you. The protection of wildlife is our duty.

T-Thank you!

The first task will be the following: find the answer to me questions.

1. Why is the protection of nature so important? What does it mean- the protection of nature?
2. Who must work hard to keep our Earth clean?
3. What can you do personally to protect the nature?
4. What will happen if we don’t stop polluting the air and the water?
5. Many animals may disappear from the face of the earth in the near future. What does it mean for man?

T- Now, I’ll give you some cards with pictures and grammar tasks. Look at the pictures of environmental problems and say: what happens if we don’t think about nature? Use Present Passive Simple in your answers.

T- What must we do? What are our duties to help nature?

PP-s: We must (keep our country tidy, mustn’t pick up flowers) etc…

T- The next task is: complete the sentences.

T- Now, children! Can you sum up what has been said and name the environmental problems. Look at the map and mark the places with these problems. Choose the picture to illustrate the problem.

PP-s: The first problem is littering.

The next problem is water pollution.

The important problem is overpopulation.

• Air pollution
• Animals which are almost extinct.

T-Yes. For a long time too little attention was paid to the environmental problems. Our planet is in danger. Let’s talk about littering. Litter is not only ugly, but it can be harmful to our streets and wildlife. Here is a box with something in it. You may ask what is there in the box? But look! Three letters R- what can they say us about?

PP-s: These are rules:

• Recycle
• Reuse
• Reduce

T- It’s quite right. Take the things and ask your classmates: how long does the litter last? These notes of exclamation will help you.

PP-s: A glass bottle lasts forever.

A banana peel lasts 6 months.

A traffic ticket lasts 1 month.

A wool scarf lasts 1 year.

A tin can lasts 100 years.

An aluminium can lasts 500 years.

A plastic bottle lasts 400 years.

T-You see, it’s terrible! We create tons of rubbish in the wrong places. We throw away too much. What can you advise? Choose the correct answer on these sheets of paper. What shall we do with aluminium can? ( a plastic bottle, a newspaper, a tin can, a glass bottle)

Advices

1. The energy saved from one aluminium can will operate a TV set for 3 hours. Recycle aluminium cans!
2. Don’t buy drinks in plastic bottles. Buy soda and other drinks in aluminium cans or glass bottles, then recycle them.
3. Use less paper! Save your family’s newspapers and recycle them.
4. Pick up litter you see as you are walking . When you hike leave the place clean. Recycle glass bottles, tin cans!

T- You are quite right! There is a good saying. You needn’t strive for cleanliness. You should take a broom and sweep your street.

Go on with our work. Let’s read the text that outlines the problems which are spoken today. Before you start reading, Think a little to make the sentences complete. Let’s take turn’s reading.

Look at the photos of a wonderful lake. Do you like them? Now, tell me, what is the main idea of the text?( The Earth is our home. We must keep our Earth clean.)

Give it a heading. (The protection of nature. Environmental problems. Our beautiful lake in danger.)

Read key sentences from the text.

There are many organizations that help to decide the environmental problems. Do you know any of them? (Wildlife Fund, Friends Of Animals, Friends Of the Earth, Greenpeace)

T-I’ve got an album about activities of these organizations. They work to protect the environment from harm. What problems do they help to decide?

I want you to sum up what you have spoken today about. What would you say in conclusion? What must we do to save our beautiful planet?

We are in charge of the planet. Let’s make the world a better place.
