And what are these specially protected places?  Who knows where this territory is situated?

Nowadays we have an opportunity to visit any part of our planet with the help of modern technologies.

Today we would like to invite you to make a virtual journey: Pushkino – Saratov – Dallas.

Before doing it, it is necessary to remember the rules of a traveler.

What should we know to make a real trip?

T. What additional information is it necessary to know in case we want to visit another country?

Traditions and customs of a country we want to travel in.

We must also know what currency this country has.

Besides, before visiting some parts of our large planet it is necessary to be vaccinated in order not to catch natural-focal diseases.

 What things do we need for travelling? Choose necessary things for our journey, write down words.

Are you ready to make a trip?

We will start our trip in the small village of Pushkino.

In your opinion, what type of transport is it better to use during the first stage of our journey?

          Bicycle or foot?

P1. It is good for your health and there are not negative effects on the environment.

P2. If we travel by bicycle with an average speed of 15 kilometers per hour, we will be in Saratov in 6,5 hours.

P3. If  our speed of walking is 5 kilometers per hour, you will be in Saratov in 20 hours.

        T.   Bus speed is 90 kilometers per hour, our trip will last a bit more than 2 hours. What places can be interesting for ecologists, who visit our village?

It is Urbahskiy combine of milled and hulled products,  that is shown in the video, the author is Basamykina Kristina.

T. What negative effects does the work of Urbahskiy combine have on the environment?

P1. The first negative effect is the emission of harmful substances during the process husk burning.

P2. The second one is the change of a fauna of a pond, that is situated near a dump, where the husk is dumped.

T. You can ask yourself  a question – why do they throw the husk, creating a dump in such a way? I think that the management of the factory is not interested in its ecological impact,  that influences the environment negatively.

 But the factory is useful too. Firstly, it gives work places (there is a problem with work places in the village); secondly, it produces millet and cattle fodder.

4. Систематизация лексики и развитие навыков  просмотрового чтения

T. Birds’ singing is heard we are in  the forest-park Kumysnaya polyana that is considered to be the great pride of Saratov citizens. It is the source of life-giving oxygen, the park is a unique natural complex and a wonderful place for countryside rest for citizens of Saratov city.

On your tables you have a worklist,  that contains the information about the natural monument – Kumysnaya polyana. Please, take a look at it.

Kumysnaya polyana is a natural monument. It has complex structure.

It is situated in the west part of the city of Saratov, Lysogorskiy Ostancoviy massif of Privolzhskaya vozvyshennost (Volga Plateau). Its territory is 3987 hectares. All types of forest devastation (except for improvement cutting), as well as cattle grazing, land allocation for building industry, road and other communications making, driving of automobile transport  through non-existing roads (except for special ones), pollution of the territory with domestic and demolition waste, fire making not in designated areas are forbidden on the territory of the park. Special protection regime is carried out on the territory of Kumysnaya polyana.

Let’s make a stop near Tatar natural spring and listen to a legend about the origin of its name. It was called “Tatar” in the end of the 19th century, when Tatar community had a flock of horses in Kumysnaya polyana and regaled its guests with some nice kumis. I reckon this is useful information.

P. Natural monuments are unique irretrievable natural museums, small reservations (forest, bog, oak wood etc), or territories where rare and valuable human-made objects are situated. Sometimes natural monuments are under State Federal Agencies’ control, but more regularly they have regional or local character.

There are 10 thousand natural monuments in Russia.

T. It is time to make our next trip to Dallas.

We can travel by plane or ship. On the territory of Dallas there is a Botanic garden, which is one of the most beautiful places of interest of this city in the open air.  

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is on the southeastern shore of White Rock Lake. The arboretum is a series of gardens and fountains with a view of the lake and the downtown Dallas skyline.

T.So look, you must have notice the city’s flowered territory, though it is considered to have severe climate, where there are very few rains and high temperature.

 Citizens of the city are working hard on transformation of the city landscape for getting such a wonderful beautiful island. On this picture you can see a real green oasis.
