YEAR 4 / THE WEEK OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES / COMPETITION “ENGLISH FRIENDS”

  • Today we’ll have the competition. You will do different tasks. I hope it’ll be interesting, funny and useful.
  • Make teams, name them. Дети делятся 4 команды
  • Ready!-Steady!-Go!

1. The Seven-Day Week

Запишите дни недели по порядку. Победит та команда, которая быстрее всех справится с заданием и правильно назовёт все дни. ( Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

2. Looking for the words.

Вспомните английские слова, которые начинаются с этих букв. Запишите их.  У вас 3 минуты. За каждое слово команда получает очки. ( буквы M, O, D, G)

3. Watch the video and answer the questions

Questions:

  1. What colour is the roof? (red)
  2. Is there a beautiful garden? (yes)
  3. What colour is the sofa? (blue)
  4. Where is the tub? (bathroom)
  5. Where is the car? (garage)

4. Work and play!

Угадайте профессию и соберите ее по буквам. ( Дети видят вопрос и им дается набор букв чтобы собрать ответ)

  1. who works at a garage? (mechanic)
  2. who works at a cafe? (waiter)
  3. who works at a post office? (postman)
  4. who works at a hospital?( nurse)

5. Funny animals! Who are you?

Представитель каждой команды тянет карточку с названием животного. У него 15 секунд объяснить ее с помощью языка жестов. По истечении 15 секунд право отгадывать получают все остальные. ( giraffe, monkey, elephant, cow)

6. Run Dictation.

У каждой команды текст. Подбегать можно только по одному. Подбежавший запоминает слово или предложение, бежит к своей команде, записывает то, что он запомнил. Потом бежит следующий игрок. Выигрывает та команда, которая записала текст без пропусков и орфографических ошибок. Править написанное можно.

7. Guess the word. Соедините предложение с подходящим по значению словом.

У каждой команды две стопки слов , с одной стороны лежат предложения, с другой  слова , которые нужно к ним  присоединить.

  1. You can tell the time with this. (clock)
  2. You can play music with this. (guitar)
  3. You can talk to your friends on this (mobile phone)
  4. You can take photos with this (camera)
