раздела «Письменная речь» ЕГЭ по английскому языку

Пример задания 38

38.1. Imagine that you are doing a project on what book genres are popular among teenagers in Zetland. You have found some data on the subject – the results of the opinion polls (see the table below).

Comment on the data in the table and give your personal opinion on the subject of the project.

Write 200–250 words.

Use the following plan:

• make an opening statement on the subject of the project;

• select and report 2–3 facts;
• make 1–2 comparisons where relevant and give your comments;
• outline a problem that can arise with reading and suggest a way of solving it;
• conclude by giving and explaining your opinion on the importance of reading for teenagers.

Всего 14 баллов.  Рекомендуемое время на выполнение – 60 минут.

Стратегии выполнения

- внимательно прочитать предложенные темы проектов, таблицу/диаграмму и план, обдумать, какая проблематика скрыта в каждом из заданий, мысленно подобрать возможное содержание Вашей работы;

- четко следовать плану сочинения – 5 абзацев (не забывая про ЛИНКЕРЫ/СВЯЗКИ);

- анализировать (интерпретировать) данные таблиц / диаграмм;

- сравнивать и сопоставлять;

- видеть проблему и пути ее решения;

- выражать свое мнение с пояснением (WHY – because / as);

- умения перефразировать.

Пункт 1 (абзац 1) – сделайте вступление по теме проектной работы.

Примечание: абзацы имеют свою структуру: в первом предложении абзаца обычно выражена его основная мысль, которая далее развивается, подкрепляется аргументами, примерами и т.д. Таким образом, все абзацы нашего эссе должны показывать, что это развернутое письменное высказывание с элементами РАССУЖДЕНИЯ. Чтобы аспект был полностью раскрыт, достаточно более развёрнуто описать 2 факта из статистики или привести 3 факта в более краткой форме.

“Правильное” вступление состоит из 2-3 предложений и знакомит нас с проблемой, указанной в самом задании. Обязательно надо указать / написать :

• вводный тезис общего характера по выбранной теме с обозначением коммуникативной ситуации;

• что вы делаете проект и указать / написать тему проекта (из задания)
• что вы нашли к нему данные опроса в СТРАНЕ (МЕСТЕ)
• в своем эссе будете комментировать (анализировать) и высказывать свое мнение.

Recent studies show that teenagers’ reading habits have changed. While doing my project on teenage reading preferences living in Zetland, I found some relevant data that illustrates what book genres adolescents choose to read, and in this essay I am going to comment on this data and express my opinion on the subject of the research.

Пункт 2 (абзац 2) – выберите и опишите 2-3 факта из статистики. (т.е. развернуто описать 2 факта из статистики или 3 факта в более краткой форме).

Начинайте второй абзац с описания основной идеи всего абзаца. Затем лучше остановиться на 2 фактах с максимальными и минимальными показателями и написать о них, обязательно указывая количество процентов цифрами.  В этом абзаце ничего сравнивать не надо! Лучше привести КОММЕНТАРИЙ c числовыми данными (что видим: большинство предпочитает/ другие -….., небольшая группа): the majority of …, most participants of the opinion polls, over half of the participants, less than a fifth of the participants, the least preferred, the largest group of … , etc.

According to the results of the opinion polls, the majority of teenagers living in Zetland who are fond of reading choose books with gripping plots, unpredictable storylines, and action scenes, such as adventure books (55.4%), detective, war, and spy stories (55.3%). The data also shows that some young people enjoy reading animal stories (27.2%) and romance novels (17.6%). (These genres tend to focus on individuals, their sentiments, and their inner motives, as well as expressing nature and the beauty of each moment).

Пункт 3 (абзац 3) – сделайте 1-2 существенных сравнения и прокомментируйте их.

Важно! Правильно распределить 5 фактов из таблицы – 2 факта во 2 абзаце и 2 факта - сравнение в третьем абзаце. Если во 2 абзаце вы комментировали данные А и В, то в 3 абзаце надо сравнить А и Д/C или В и Д/C

Looking at the figures in the table, we can see that sports stories (noted by 49.2 % of respondents) are almost twice as popular as animal stories. Another interesting feature of the poll is that adventure and detective/war/spy stories are twice as favored as animal stories (27.2 %).

Пункт 4 (абзац 4) – укажите проблему, которая может возникнуть с чтением и предложите способ её решения.

Нужно выявить проблему, скрытую в данных соцопроса или поднять другую проблему в исследуемой сфере и найти логическое решение данной проблемы. Первое предложение — это как всегда основная идея всего абзаца. Далее опишите возможную проблему, связанную с темой исследования, и предложите способ решения этой проблемы.

According to the research, young people are much more likely to open a breathtaking page-turner than a long but equally interesting romance and wonderful kind animal stories. As a result, the younger generation may be less emotionally intelligent, compassionate, and friendly. To prevent this from happening, schools could organize reading clubs where students could discuss their favourite books and learn about new literary genres.

Пункт 5 (абзац 5) – сделайте вывод, выразив своё мнение о важности чтения для подростков.

Для раскрытия этого аспекта важно точно следовать формулировке, данной в плане ответа. Формулировки могут выделять разные стороны исследуемого явления – с некоторым расширением: например, тема проекта «Чтение в жизни подростков», а в заключении может стоять «роль чтения в жизни людей». Также в заключении должно быть ясно и чётко сказано, что это мнение автора. (I think)

In conclusion, I believe that reading should be an essential part of teenagers’ lives. It is important to expose young people to adventure and romance novels, as this will help them become more versatile, emotionally stable, and curious.

Sample Answer

Teenagers' reading habits have shifted, according to recent research. To learn more about it, I found data on what literary genres are popular among youngsters in Zetland. I evaluated this data as part of my research and discovered some interesting insights.

According to the research, teenagers in Zetland read a variety of book genres. The majority of respondents (55.4 percent) prefer reading adventure novels, as well as detective, war, and spy fiction (55.3 percent). Sports tales are the third most popular genre, as indicated by 49.2 percent of respondents. 27.2 percent of those questioned like animal tales, while just 17.6 percent enjoy romance.

Clearly, there is a significant gap in popularity between the most and least popular book genres: adventure novels are almost three times as popular as romance. By contrast, the gap between romance and animal tales is not as pronounced: it is less than 10%.

While teenagers in Zetland seem to be interested in reading, young people worldwide are reading fewer books than in the past. The issue is that today's teens are easily discouraged by lengthy and difficult texts. As a consequence, young people get discouraged and lose interest in reading, impairing their comprehension abilities and academic achievement. The best way to address this issue is to allow adolescents to choose their own reading material and to encourage them to read more often.

To conclude, I believe that despite some problems associated with reading, it is very important for teenagers to read different texts on a regular basis.

The information, given in the table / diagram / pie chart / clearly illustrates the popularity of …………… On the contrary, we can see that ……... is the least important for students / young people / teenagers. It is only …… percent. They put it at the bottom of the table / diagram / pie chart .

Paragraph 3: make 1–2 comparisons where relevant and give your comments

According to the data in the table / diagram / pie chart / the greatest difference is that ………… . Another thing that I would like to mention here is that ……….. turned out to be more / less important than ….. . The table /diagram /pie chart / also shows that ……….. which is only …… percent more / less than …….. .

Paragraph 4: outline a problem that can arise with reading and suggest the way of solving it (читаем формулировку пункта плана)

Стилистические особенности эссе

Всё эссе должно быть написано в нейтральном стиле. Это означает, что в развёрнутом ответе нельзя использовать:

• риторические вопросы;
• разговорные выражения и конструкции типа Let’s. Let us и Let me — нейтральный стиль;
• сниженную лексику типа folks (people);
• стяжённые (краткие) формы глаголов: I’m, he’s, don’t, aren’t, can’t, didn’t, I’d like; исключение — needn’t.

Несколько советов, как соблюсти формальный / нейтральный стиль:

• Употребляйте минимум личных местоимений. Лучше использовать обобщения («люди», «граждане», «школьники») и пассивные грамматические конструкции: «была проделана работа», «был проведён эксперимент». Личное местоимение допустимо только для изложения своего мнения: “I believe…”

• Не используйте оценочных или ярких экспрессивных прилагательных (good, bad, nice, terrible, interesting, amazing). Если нужны прилагательные, лучше употреблять те, что несут больше смысла и менее эмоционально окрашены: motivating, educational, beneficial, convenient. Подчёркивайте, какие возможности даёт то или иное явление или предмет.

• Применяйте правило “7+ sentences” — в предложении должно быть минимум 7 слов. Избегайте простых коротких предложений.

• Не начинайте предложение с but или and. Лучше использовать yet или however. Допустимы moreover и furthermore.

• Отнеситесь внимательно к знакам препинания. В конце предложения необходима точка. Вводные конструкции и слова-связки выделяются запятыми.
