(Далее начинается повествование об истории Дня Благодарения)

Teacher: Many years ago, the pilgrims came to America. They sailed on a big ship

Indian 1: Look! Over there! It’s a boat!

Indian 2: Let's tell the Chief!

Pilgrim 1: Is the boat ever going to land?

Pilgrim 2:  Look! We can see people on the new land! I wonder who they are?

Indians rhyme

(на сцену выходят индейцы)

I’m a little Indian on the go,

Here’s my arrow, here’s my bow

When I go hunting, here me shout,

Bears and buffalo better watch out!

Teacher: When the Pilgrims landed in Massachusetts they met the Wampanoag people, who greeted them on the beach and said ‘Hello’!

The Wampanoag people were kind and helpful to them. They had grown corn they could share with the Pilgrims. They knew how to find wild turkeys and other food as well.

Everyone: We are thankful for the wild turkeys!

Pilgrim 1: I am thankful I can hunt!

Indian 1: I am thankful I can cook!

(На сцену выходят пилигримы)

Teacher: The Pilgrims were thankful they stayed safe on their trip from Britain and that the Wampanoag people helped them learn to find food in a new land, and the food came in loads of different colors!

Thanksgiving Colors Poem

Orange is the pumpkin,

Yellow is the corn.

Brown is the Turkey

With stuffing to adorn,

Red are the cranberries,

Green are the beans.

Five delicious colors – In a feast of my dreams!

Pilgrim 2: I am thankful for the food in the new land.

Pilgrim 1: I am thankful for the forests in the new land.

Pilgrim 2: I am thankful we can make houses in the new land.

Teacher: In the autumn, the food had finished growing and it was harvest time. The Pilgrims and the Wampanoag shared a meal they called Thanksgiving. Everyone came together and cooked the famous meal!

EVERYONE: We are so thankful for our friends and family!

Indian 2: You haven’t even tasted the best bit yet!

ALL NATIVE AMERICANS: THE TURKEY!

-Matt chases Dan outside, comes back in with cooked turkey, everyone is happy-

Indian 1: That was the first Thanksgiving.

Pilgrim 1: People celebrate Thanksgiving every year.

Indian 2: On Thanksgiving, everyone is thankful for the things in life.

Pilgrim 2: Many people still eat turkey to celebrate!

EVERYONE: We are thankful for family, friends and Neighbors. Hooray!

Teacher: But before we go, remember, there is one last thing we need to say!

Thank you song (Twinkle Little Star)

Thank you for the Earth and Sky,

Thank you for the birds that fly,

Thank you for the food we grow,

Thank you for the streams that flow,

Thank you Thank you this we say,

Thanks for all we have today!
