The AIMS : Задачи: практическая – совершенствование навыков чтения, говорения, письма; развитие умения применять на практике изученную лексику; образовательная – расширение словарного запаса и общего кругозора; воспитательная – формирование бережного отношения к окружающей среде, воспитание экологической культуры; развивающая – развитие внимания, языковой догадки, навыков сравнения, сопоставления и формулирования выводов. «To be or not to be a vegetarian?».

1. - It’s stupid to say everybody must be a vegetarian. In some places, it’s very difficult to get enough to eat. People have to eat what they can get.

2. + Oh, what? What’s about animals? They don’t wish to be killed and would like to enjoy life to the full, just as any human would. Killing animals is a real crime!

3. + I fully agree with you! It’s cruel to let animals suffer so much. I don’t think it’s necessary to kill to eat.

4. - Don't make me laugh! You never see a tiger or a lion feeling sorry for its victim, do you?

5. +  May be. In spite of it I think you’re mistaken. The thought of eating a dead animal actually makes me sick.

6. - Stop talking nonsense! I insist that vegetarianism is silly. You can’t live forever on cucumbers and apples, can you?

7. + Yes, I can. To my mind, killing an animal isn’t different from killing a human. It is awful cruelty. I always remember this fact.

8.  -  As for me, I don’t think about it. I’m sure I’ll never become a vegetarian, because I love fast food and eat lots of hot dogs and hamburgers.

9.  +  You are wrong! If you went to the slaughterhouse to see how animals are killed, you wouldn’t eat meat at all.

10. -  Frankly speaking, I don’t really care if I eat meat or not, but my parents say I mustn’t. Maybe when I’m older.

The protection of nature has become one of the most burning problems. The nature provides people with mineral resources, forests, fresh air and clean water, but the development of industry upsets the biological balance in the world. Our health depends on our environment and we know that the range of ecological problems is wide nowadays. Among them are:

- Air pollution

- Water pollution

-  Land (soil) pollution

- The Greenhouse effect

- Global warming

- The Ozone holes

- Disappearing Animals

Nature isn’t only our home, it is also home for animals, birds and plants. Animals are killed for skin, fur, meat. Some species of animals are disappearing. We must care for them.
