Teacher   Hello, pupils! Today we are going to speak about Halloween. We have already learnt a lot about this holiday. Let’s listen to the song - “Halloween”.

Песня:         It’s Halloween, the night  is dark, the moon is in the sky.

We’re going to play “Trick or treat”... Wait! Did you hear a cry?

What was that? Did something move? Perhaps, it’s just a dog.

But can you see two yellow eyes shining through the fog?

Shut the door and lock it too, close the windows tight.

It’s Halloween, it’s cold and dark. We’re staying in tonight.

Teacher   Welcome to our Halloween Party. The symbol of Halloween is something big, orange or yellow. You can eat it. What’s that? Guess.

Pupils   Pumpkin

Teacher  Ghosts and witches have cut our pumpkin into lots of peaces and they have got a lot of tasty things and they will give them to you if you put all the peaces of the pumpkin together. They promised to give a peace of pumpkin for a good performance. Let’s put all the peaces of our pumpkin together and start our party. Let’s remember what we know about Halloween.

Pupil 1  In late October the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer. The cold winds blow. The leaves fall down from the trees. Winter is coming. It’s tune of Halloween. Halloween is on the 31st of October. In the past this festival was a time of fear. People believed in ghosts and witches and stayed at home.

Pupil 2  Now ghosts and witches are people dressed in old and funny clothes.

Children go from door to door shouting “Trick or treat”. The person who opens the door must give the children a treat - some sweets or chocolate. If not, the children play a trick on them. People give the children sweets, apples or money. Now Halloween is time for fun.

Teacher  We have listened to the story of Halloween. Let’s check how you understand it. When do people celebrate Halloween?

Pupil 3   On the 31 “ of October.

Teacher  What did people do on that day in the past?

Pupil 4   They stayed at home because they were scared of ghosts and witches.

Teacher  What do people do on the 31 * of October nowadays?

Pupil 5   They put on funny clothes and have parties.

Teacher  What do children do on that day?

Pupil 6   They do “Trick or treat”

Teacher  Ok, you know a lot about this holiday and we have 6 pieces of pumpkin But it’s not enough. Let’s start out Poem Competition.


Pupils     Halloween

It's Halloween! ft’s Halloween!

The moon is full and bright And we shall see what can't be seen On any other night:

Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls.

Grinning goblins fighting duels.

Werewolves rising from their tombs.

Witches on their magic brooms.

In masks and gouns we haunt the street And knock on doors for trick or treat.

Tonight we are the king and queen,

For oh tonight it’s Halloween!

Teacher

  Well done! What do the children say when they want to get something tasty Pupils   Trick or treat

Teacher   It’s time for the poem “Trick or treat”

Pupils     Trick or treat, trick or treat,        

Give us something good to eat.

Give us candy, give us cake,

Give us something sweet to take.

Give us cookies, fruit and gum,

Hurry up and give us some.

You had better do it quick Or we’ll surely play a trick.

Trick or treat, trick or treat,

Give us something good to eat

 Teacher   Well, we need five more peaces. Let’s tell the poem about the pumpkin.  Pupils     Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate The first one said “Oh my, it’s getting late”.

The second one said “There are witches in the air”.

The third one said “But we don’t care!”

The fourth one said “Let’s run and run and run!”

The fifth on said “I’m ready for some fun.”

Oooooooooo о о о went the wind and out went the light And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.

    Oh, we need some more peaces of pumpkin. Who can help us?Pupil    I want to tell you a poem about Jack-О-Lantern

Sometimes big and sometimes small But always round and yellow.

When children make my famous grin Then I’m a scary fellow.

Teacher

   What is one of the most popular fancy dresses for Halloween?Pupils     A dress of witch.

Teacher   We need one peace of pumpkin and the last poem comes.

Pupils     One little, two little, three little witches,

Four little, five little, six little witches,

Seven little, eight little, nine little witches,

Ten little witches in the sky!

Ten little, nine little, eight little witches,

Seven little, six little, five little witches,

Four little, three little, two little witches,

One little witch,

Bye-bye!

Teacher    Our pumpkin is ready and we can start out Halloween party. Let’s start it with an interesting competition. Let’s choose the best fancy dress. (Pupils choose the best fancy dress by voting)

Teacher   Now it’s time for playing games. We will play a funny game “A donkey without a tail. (One pupil comes at the blackboard, takes a tail of the donkey. The teacher blindfolds him. A pupil has to fasten a tail to the donkey).

Teacher   Our party comes to the end. The end of Halloween party is sweet, so let’s have some sweets.
