Last year, our school launched a project of polylingualism in our educational program. Thanks to this project, we are meeting for the second time at the teachers' Festival "I want to share with you....". Moreover, within this project, in summer I worked at a summer camp at our school, where one of the groups was multilingual. The group included children of different ages from 8 to 11 years old. We tried to create an environment for learning English. Not only English, often we practiced German exactly with students from 5th form, also we used our native language when we play different games. But every day we had English lesson for an hour. The most difficult thing was to arouse the children's interest in English, given their different ages. I decided to use the Interactive notebook creation method.

An interactive notebook is a teaching tool used to present classroom material. While the teacher is teaching, each student creates a notebook that reflects a new information and their own thoughts. Essentially, interactive notebooks are hands-on learning. The learning is in the manipulation. Interactive notebooks allow students to be creative. It isn’t just a notetaking. A student can use art, reading, writing, and games within their notebooks as a part of the lessons. There are also paces for their own thinking and reflection.

Among the various didactic materials used in foreign language lessons, the creation of interactive notebooks is a new motivator. This notebook that students create with the help of teacher or himself/herself, creatively designs, uses all kinds of colors and shapes. It’s a great way to review what you’ve learned. At any convenient time, the students simply open the notebook and happily repeat the study.

The product created in this way meets the requirements of Federal state educational standard:

-it is informative;

-has descriptive properties;

-provides cognitive, research, creative and game activity of students;

-variable (there are several options for using each part of it);

-promotes the development of memory, attention, imagination, creativity and so on.

Interactive notebook is an ordinary notebook in a box that allows you to turn boring grammar rules into an amazing world of magic. And this is exactly what younger students need.

Let’s look through  the Thematic planning of the group.

  The subject of classes includes the main sections of the English language program for elementary school. According to the plan, we had to work for 21 days. But Covid did not give us the opportunity to implement our plans. we managed to conduct enough classes to share with you some of the results. But in summer we plan to implement our ideas in full.

I’d like to share with some ideas of using samples.

1. My family. The petal book.

In the middle of the flower students can draw a picture of themselves or a stick their photos. Then children match the words from the box under the flaps. One flap can fit several words. #: A boy is a son, a brother. Also under the flaps children can write the appropriate pronounce (it, she, Mr, Mrs, Miss or some other vocabulary). Then they learn the structure “have got” in affirmative, interrogative, and negative sentences.

1.        My hobby. An accordion  book.

This idea (sample) can be used for training different themes not only Hobby, Food, Kind of sports and so on

2.        Numerals. Flapbook

This sample students can use for consolidation numerals. They can prescribe numbers then close and write from memory.

3.        My house. Flapbook.

Here we repeat the Vocabulary “House”, the construction “there is\there are”. And prepositions of place.

The petal book verb to be helps us practice affirmative, interrogative and negative sentences. you can also repeat or introduce new vocabulary using this verb. for example: professions, adjectives. Children make sentences and keep them in a flowerpot.
