ВНЕКЛАССНОЕ МЕРОПРИЯТИЕ ПО АНГЛИЙСКОМУ ЯЗЫКУ

«I Love Her 'Cause She's My Mum»

Возраст детей: 4,9  классы

Время проведения: 06.03.2018 г.

Задачи:

1. Систематизация знаний учащихся по теме «Праздники», «Семья».
2. Развитие творческих способностей учащихся
3. Развитие языковой культуры школьников и культуры общения
4. Формирование положительной мотивации учения

Праздник проводится на английском языке.

Дети соревнуются командами. И мамы соревнуются между собой. Итоги подводятся на мероприятии. Так же заранее разучиваются стихи, песни, сценки, презентации. Ведущие мероприятия старшеклассники.

Leader 1: Good afternoon, dear guests!

Leader 2: Good afternoon, dear mothers!

L.1: Hello, children!

L. 2: We are glad to see you at our party! It is devoted to Mother’s Day. 

L. 1: Different countries celebrate Mother’s Day on various days of the year. In November Mother’s Day is celebrated in more than 50 countries at different times in the month of May, in some countries it is celebrated in March, August or in October. 

L.1: Mother’s Day in Russia is quite a new holiday. 

L. 2: It has been celebrated since November 1998.  People in Russia honored their mums on the last Sunday in November. But we honored our mums on the other day too. It’s on the 8th of March.

L. 2: This holiday gives you the opportunity to tell your mother how much she means to you. Let her know how special her love for you is.

L. 1: The members of the family try to make Mother’s Day a day off for their mum. They help her any way they can: wash up, clean the rooms and cook different tasty things.

L. 1: The best present to your mother could be a poem. Let’s listen to some of them.

 L1: Mother’s day is a wonderful holiday. There are some facts about this holiday.

L 2: The earliest history of Mother’s Day dates back to the ancient times. The Greeks held festivities honor Rhea, wife of Cronus and the mother of many deities ([ˈdiːɪtɪz]) of Greek mythology.

L. 1: The ancient Romans, too, celebrated a spring festival, called Hilaria dedicated to Cybele, a mother goddess. The celebration lasted for three days and included parades, games and masquerades.

L. 2: The early Christians celebrated a Mother's Day on the fourth Sunday of Lent in honor of the Virgin Mary, the Mother of Christ. But then the custom of celebrating Mothering Sunday died out almost completely by the 19th century.

L.1: The story of Mother’s Day began in the USA with the efforts of a dynamic writer and poetess, Julia Ward Howe in 1872.  She initiated a Mothers' Peace Day observance on the second Sunday in June in Boston and held the meeting for a number of years. Her idea spread but was later replaced by the Mothers' Day holiday now celebrated in May.

L. 2: Mother`s day was celebrated first in 1908 in America. Anna Jarvis is recognized as the Founder of Mother’s Day in the USA. Though Anna Jarvis never married and never had kids, she is also known as the Mother of Mother’s Day, an apt title for the lady who worked a lot to bestow honor on all mothers.

L.1: The hard work paid off. By 1911, Mother's Day was celebrated in almost every state in the Union and on May 8, 1914 President Woodrow Wilson signed a Joint Resolution designating the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day. The symbol of the holiday were Carnations Anna’s  mother favorite flowers. Anna felt that they symbolized a mother’s pure love.

L.1: In the UK, Mother’s Day celebrations started by the name of Mothering Sunday, several years before the tradition found its roots in the UK.

L.2: The date of Mothering Sunday in the UK varies every year. It does not correspond to the Mother's Day festival in US which falls on the second Sunday in the month of May. Mothering Sunday in England is always celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent (the 40 day period leading up to Easter) in honor of Mary, the mother of Christ. The more commonly prepared dish of Mothering Sunday is Simnel Cake.

L.1: Simnel Cake is a special food item associated with Mothering Sunday. A Simnel cake is a rich fruit cake with a layer of almond paste on top and also in the middle. The cake is made with 11 balls of marzipan icing on top representing the 11 disciples. The cake was boiled in water, then baked. The Lenten fast dictated that the simnel cake be keep until Easter.

Willie: We didn’t eat our own sweets. Tommy ate mine and I ate his.

It's Time to go to School

One early morning, a lady went in to wake up her son.

Mother: "Wake up, son. It's time to go to school!"

Son: "But why Mom? I don't want to go."

Mom: "Give me two reasons why you don't want to go."

Son: "Well, the kids hate me for one, and the teachers hate me, too!"

Mom: "Oh, that's no reason to not to go to school. Come on now and get ready."

Son: "Give me two reasons why I should go to school."

Mom: "Well, for one, you're 52 years old. And for another, you're the Principal!"

Now we are going to compete. We have two teams. Let’s see who the best is. We are starting now.

Look at the screen!

L.2: The symbol of the holyday is a Carnation. And we suggest you to make a bunch of flowers for yours mothers from lovely words.

So, English Mother’s Day is similar with International Women’s Day, which is widely celebrated in Russia.

«The Best Mother» Competition. Конкурс «Самая лучшая мама».

English Teacher: Dear mothers, would you like to take part in the competition called “The Best Mother”? 
1)“We’ve overslept!” Who will be ready quicker? «Проспали!» Кто быстрее соберется?

English Teacher: Imagine that you’ve overslept. Your task is to get ready as quickly as possible. By the way, mums help kids to get ready for school.

2) Relax. “We can do everything with Mummy!” Физкультминутка «С мамой можно всё на свете!»

English Teacher: Children, your mummies want you to be healthy and strong! Let’s do funny exercises with them! But it will be in English. Are you ready?
Daddies know, children know,
They can do everything with mummies! (Дети шагают на месте)
Firstly, they can skip with mothers, (Имитируют прыжки через скакалку)
They can dance (Танцуют)
And they can ski. (Имитируют ходьбу на лыжах)
They can also turn around (Поворачиваются кругом)
And, of course, play hide-and-seek. (Закрывают глаза ладошками)
And what else?
In winter mummies
Can play snowballs. It's great! (Имитируют игру в снежки)
Any season mummies can 
Cut and paint and sew and cook, (Имитируют называемые действия)
And have a pretty charming look. ("Красят губки и глазки")
Kids blow up balloons with mummies (Надувают шарики)
And at last, they fall asleep – 
Happy, smiling, with dreams so sweet… (Садятся на корточки, кладут головы на сложенные ладошки)

Подводим итоги (грамоты командам и мамам) и подарки мамам, гостям, ВМ и АК

P: 1. Mom's smiles can brighten any moment,

Mom's hugs put joy in all our days,

Mom's love will stay with us forever

and touch our lives in precious ways…

The values you've taught,

the care you've given,

and the wonderful love you've shown,

in more ways than I can count.

L.1: Mother’s Day means to give due honor to the woman who gave us birth and life.

L.2: When we are a child she walks before us to set an example.

L.1: When we are a teenager she walks behind us to be there should you need her.

L.2: When we are an adult she walks beside us so that two friends can enjoy life together
