I. Warm up.

Phonetics.

Pronounce the sounds and words correctly (P.P presentation)

II. Oral speech practice.

1) Name the sports you can see in the picture.

2) Make up a sentence using this sport.

e.g. to play football;

They can play football. (P.P presentation)

III. Grammar Revision. Modal verb “can”

( The class is divided into two groups)

1) The first group makes up sentences what sports they can do.

The second group makes up sentences what sports they can’t do.

e.g. 1-st group: I can play volleyball.

       2-nd group: I can’t play baseball.

2) The first group makes up questions.

The second group answers them.

e.g. 1-st group: Can you play basketball?

       2-nd group: Yes, I can. (No, I can’t)

3) Chain-game. The students say what sports they can do and ask their classmates.

e.g. I can play tennis. What can you do?

IV. Relaxation (Song)    

1. Listen to the song.

2. Repeat the phrases (P.P presentation)

3. Sing to the music

V.   Grammar Revision. Present Simple.

Make up as many sentences as you can (handouts).

Hello, my friends!

My name is Vera. I am from Russia. I am eight. We are a family of five. I’ve got a father, a mother, a sister and a brother.

My father is a good sportsman. He likes to play football in summer and hockey in winter.

My mother can play badminton and tennis. I like to play badminton with my mother.

My sister, my brother and  I like to swim. So in summer we go to the swimming pool and have a good time there.

And what about you?  What sports do you like?
