SPORTS

Sport is fun for girls and boys

It’s much better than the toys.

You can sledge and ski, and skate

And play snowballs with Kate.

You can swim and play   football,

Hockey, tennis, basketball.

You can jump and you can run.

You can have a lot of fun.

A  DUCK  FAMILY

Father Duck goes for a swim.

Mother Duck comes out with him

And behind them, nice and clean,

Seven yellow ducklings  swim.

Seven little yellow balls.

«Quack, quack, quack,» the mother calls.

What a pretty sight they make

Swimming on the lake.

I  LOVE  MY  DOG

I’ve got a dog,

His name is Jack.

His head is white,

His nose is black.

I take him out

Every day.

Such fun we have!

We run and play.

Such clever tricks

Mу dog can do.

I love my dog!

He loves me too!

I have two legs

With which I walk,

I have a tongue

With which I talk.

And with it too

I eat my food

And tell

If it is bad or good.

 I cannot reach the ceiling,

But a can sweep the floor;

And then when I grow bigger,

I’ll learn to do some more.

 Learn this little lesson

As well as you can:

Be tidy like Tom,

Not dirty like Dan.

Breakfast in the morning,

Dinner in the daytime.

Tea comes after dinner,

Then it’s time to play.

Supper in the evening

When the sky is red,

Then the day is over

And we go to bed.

 I love all kinds of animals,

Dogs and cats and rabbits.

I love all kinds of animals,

I know their little habits.

 if I had plenty of money,

Do you know what I would do?

I’d buy such lots of animals

And have my own little Zoo.

But they wouldn’t be in cages,

They’d be free to run around.

And there’s one thing they would know,

That thing is to be safe and sound.

ROBIN THE BOBBIN

Robin the Bobbin,

the big-bellied Ben,

He ate more meat

than fourscore men;

He ate a cow,

he ate a calf,

He ate a butcher

and a half,

He ate a church,

he ate a steeple,

He ate a priest

and all the people!

A cow and a calf,

An ox and a half,

A church and a steeple,

And all good people,

And yet he complained

that his stomach wasn't full.

My Teddy bear by unknown authоr

My teddy’s fur is soft and brown,

his legs are short and fat;

He walks with me around the town

And never wears a hat.

My Teddy keeps me warm in bed,

I like his furry toes;

I like his darling little head,

His pretty little nose.

What is red?

Asks little Fred.

His brother says,

The rose is red.

What is white?

My kite is white.

Do you see my little kite?

What is grey?

Now, can you say?

Yes, I can.

The mouse is grey.

What is black?

My cat is black. '

It goes out

And comes back.

Shopping, shopping, Christmas shopping.

Mums are hurrying — running, hopping.

Presents, boxes everywhere,

Cards and crackers, teddy-bears,

Lots of useless pretty things:

Candles, tinsel, golden rings,

I’ve been doing shopping too.

Look at me: you’ll see it’s true:

Messy clothes and messy hair —

Christmas, Christmas everywhere

How many there are

And who they can be

She helps and she plays

He’s out there alone

Why it’s Jackie, the dog

And he’s chewing a bone

Five little cats are playing on the floor.

One runs away – and now they are four.

Four little cats are hiding in the tree.

 One runs away – and now there are three.

Three little cats are walking at the Zoo.

One runs away – and now there are two.

Two little cats are lying in the sun.

 One runs away – and now there is one.

SNOW
snow, snow, much snow
Everywhere we look, and everywhere we go
Snow on the sandbox
Snow on the slide
Snow on the bike
Left outside
Snow on the steps
And the snow on his feet
Snow on the sidewalk
Down the street

Let’s go to my house.
Let’s go today.
I’ll show you all the rooms
Where we work and play.
Here is the kitchen
Where Mother cooks for me.
Here is the living room
Where we watch TV.
Here is the dining room.
We eat here every day.
And this room is my room
Where I sleep and play.

ONLY  ONE  HEART

I’ve got two legs

With which I walk.

   I’ve got a tongue

   With which I talk.

I’ve got two eyes

With which I see.

   I’ve got one heart

   To live and be.

Jane is always losing things,

She is always buying rings,

She is always catching cats,

 She is always changing hats.

Tom is always coming late,

 He is always pushing Kate,

 He is always catching frogs,

He is always chasing dogs.

Grizzly bear.
If you ever, ever, ever meet a grizzly bear –
You must never, never, never ask him where
He is going –
or what he is doing:
For if you ever, ever dare
To stop a grizzly bear –
You will never meet
Another grizzly bear.

Mice.
I think mice are very nice,
Their tails are long,
Their faces are small,
They haven’t any chins at all.
Their ears are pink,
Their teeth are white,
They run about the house at night.
They eat things
They must not touch.
And no one seems to like them much.
But I think mice are very nice.

Little grey mouse.
– Little grey mouse,
Where is your house?
– I can show you my flat
If you don’t tell the cat.
My flat has no door
I live under the floor
I come out in the night
And go back when it’s light.

Crocodile
I said to crocodile:
“Will you play with me?”
“Oh,no,” – said Crocodile.
“oh, no,” – said he.
Here is my tooth-brush
And here is my cup so new.
I must brush my teeth.
I cannot play with you.

I like
I like comics, I like hats.
I like biscuits, trees and cats.
I don’t like spider, I don’t like cheese.
I don’t like rats or big yellow bees.
I like to skip
I like to skip,
I like to jump,
I like to run about,
I like to play,
I like to sing,
I like to laugh and shout.
