CHRISTMAS PARTY

Цель: формирование познавательно-коммуникативных навыков общения, повышение культурного уровня и расширение кругозора учащихся на основе традиций и обычаев праздника "Christmas"

ознакомление учащихся с обычаями и традициями празднования этого дня в англоязычных странах, а также традициях в разных частях света.

развитие творческой фантазии и инициативы в осуществлении иноязычной речевой деятельности, а также развития познавательных интересов учащихся 

совершенствование  навыков  чтения, письма, аудирования и коммуникативного общения

формирование грамматического навыка образования и использования времени The Present Perfect Tense, использование оборотов There is / There are,

притяжательного падежа имен существительных.

воспитание умения работать в группе и принимать единое решение

Оборудование: эмблемы, стенгазеты, рисунки, выполненные учениками и демонстрирующие главную идею праздника; магнитофон с аудиозаписью песен, компьютер или ноутбук с экраном-мультимедиа; конфеты для призового фонда, оборудование для сценки.

Ход мероприятия

Ведущий: Good morning, boys and girls! I am glad to see you. Today we’ll have an unusual lesson. Oh, not a lesson! Can you tell me: What season is it now? And what month is it now? That’s right. What date was it yesterday? (It was the 25th of December) You are absolutely right. And what holly holiday do people  from different parts of the world celebrate on that day? (Christmas) It’s true. And today we’re going to have a Christmas party. I hope you are ready for some fun. There two teams today. The first one is “The snowflakes” and the second one is “The snowmen”. I wish you good luck! Are you ready? (Yes, we are!)

Well done! And now it’s time for the first challenge.

There are two big happy holidays in winter. A lot of people from different countries celebrate them. What are they? (They are Christmas and the New Year). You had to find some interesting information about these two bright and joyful holidays or about holiday tradition around the world. Try to name as many interesting facts as you can. Each fact brings 1 point for your team.

Well done! And now it’s time for the second challenge.

As we know at Christmas night an old man called St. Nicolas or Santa Claus comes into the houses through the chimneys. He has a big bag of presents for children and he puts them into the children’s stockings or under the Christmas tree.

But let’s find some more interesting facts about Mr. Claus. You will see an exclusive interview with Santa Claus and you must tick the correct information in the list. Are you ready? Let’s go.

It’s time for the third challenge.

It was very interesting but we must go on. We’ve learnt from the video that Santa Claus lives in the North Pole. I have the map of Santa’s village in the North Pole. Let’s read the following texts and match the names of the houses to the pictures. Time is up. I want to hear your correct answers.

Well done! Look at the map again. There is a beautiful Christmas tree on the left. We know that people buy a Christmas tree and decorate it with toys, coloured balls and little coloured lights. And all trees dream of becoming Christmas trees. Let’ watch a funny dance of the happiest Christmas tree.

So, let’s clap your hands. Thank you, little lovely trees.

The fourth challenge.And where can we put our Christmas tree? How do we call a room where people can spend quiet evenings sitting in comfortable armchairs, sometimes in front of the fireplace, read books or listen to music? (It’s a sitting room or a living room)

Look at the blackboard. Our sitting room is empty now. But I’m sure you can put all things on the right places. Spin the wheel and check your luck.)))

The fifth challenge. Look at our wonderful sitting room! It’s so bright and lovely!                 As you know Christmas is not just time for presents. It’s also the time when all family members come together. Look at the happy Christmas family. Who is who? (Ex. Ben is Kristopher’s father.)

The sixth challenge. And now I want to know if you are ready for Christmas and New Year. Look at Christmas list and say what you have already done and what you haven’t done yet.
