Topic: «St. Valentine’s Day».
Grammar: Present Simple.
Цель: Ознакомление обучающихся с традициями и обычаями празднования Дня Святого Валентина.
Задачи:
- введение лексики по теме: «St. Valentine’s Day »;
- расширение кругозора;
- воспитание чувства прекрасного и уважение к традициям других народов.
Оборудование: компьютер, раздаточный материал.

II Основная часть Do you like holidays? What holidays do you know? Today you will learn about once more holiday. Look at the slide. There are symbols of this holiday. Match the picture and the words. Write answers in your worksheets. (слайд 2) Now check yourself. Now look at the picture (слайд 2) and answer: What is the holiday today? Yes, you are right. What do you know about St. Valentine’s Day? Fine. Now listen about St. Valentine’s Day and answer the question (вопросы на экране, слайд 6) It is a very sentimental unofficial holiday, which is celebrated on the 14th February by those who believe in love and friendship. Boys and girls, husbands and wives, just friends send nice cards to each other with warm greetings on the day. No one can trace origin of this European tradition, but the legend tells us a story of an Italian monk Valentine who helped young people to marry breaching thus the ruler's law. St Valentine was executed but people still remember him and celebrate this saint's day as a day of love. The best presents are small trifles, chocolates and greeting cards. The words are simple and touching like these ones: I'll be your sweetheart If you will be mine, All of my life I'll be your Valentine. Answer the question. Yes, Boys and girls, husbands and wives, just friends send nice cards to each other with warm greetings on the day. You know Vitalina would like to congratulate her new friend with St. Valentine’s Day but she could not buy a valentine in the town. Help her. Write cards.
