Teacher’s article of faith. My profile.

You are going to create a brief profile of myself as a teacher.  

First think of these.

1. I always correct learner’s mistakes.

2. I talk as little as possible.

3. I always ask my learners to speak in complete sentences,

4. It is a waste of time to do lengthy writing exercises.

5. I gave up drilling.

6. I use authentic materials as often as I can.

7.  I don’t explain meaning. I illustrate it.

8. I don’t show learners how  to spell a word until they’ve heard it and practiced several  times.

9. I don’t like to allow silences of more than a few seconds during the lesson.

10. I always try to elicit information from learners first , rather than giving it myself.

11.  I use a lot of games and songs to lighten the atmosphere .

12.  I don’t use translation.

13. I make sure everyone in the class can say the word or sentence being practiced before I move to the next point.

14. I always stand and never sit. I have to monitor the students.
