     «Политические  системы  Соединённого             Королевства  Великобритании  и  Северной  Ирландии,  США  и  Российской  Федерации»

Цели урока – итоговый контроль по теме  “Western Democracies “, совершенствование лексических навыков, развитие способности к сравнению, формулированию выводов из полученной информации.

Задачи урока –

Обучающая – проверка знаний учащихся по тестовым заданиям, умения соотнести понятие и его объяснение,

Развивающая – расширение кругозора учащихся по теме путём привлечения дополнительной информации, развитие уменbя анализировать, сравнивать, видеть различия в предложенном материале,

Воспитательная – осознание себя гражданином своей страны и гражданином мира, умение ориентироваться в политической обстановке, в построении политических систем своей страны и двух англо-говорящих стран.

Речевой материал:

- лексика раздела  Western Democracies

Методы: наглядно-иллюстративный метод.

Оснащение – мультимедийный проектор, флаги США, России, Великобритании, портреты лидеров стран, карточки с определением политических терминов, магнитофон.

Учащиеся должны уметь и знать – политические термины, рассказывать о политическом устройстве Соединённого Королевства Великобритании и Северной Ирландии, США и Российской Федерации, уметь соотнести основные понятия по теме и их определения, ответить на главные вопросы урока, чётко осознав их значение.

Форма урока – конференция.

Вопросы к уроку – What is democracy? What is the main law in any country? What are the differences in the political systems of the UK, The USA and the Russian Federation?

                      ПЛАН УРОКА.

1. Организационно - психологический момент. Приветствие участников конференции, проверка списочного состава участников.

Определение темы и целей урока /конференции/, основных вопросов.

Звучат гимны Соединённого Королевства, США и РФ.

       Teacher: Good afternoon! I am glad to welcome you at our conference! We have begun our conference with national anthems of three countries. We are citizens of Russia and we are also the citizens of the world. The life of citizens depends on the political system of the state. I think you can declare the theme of our conference.

Pupil: The theme of our conference is Political Systems of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, the United States of America and the Russian Federation.

Teacher: Right you are. We will talk about the main parts of different political systems.

2. Фонетическая и речевая зарядка.

1.         Teacher: Let’s start our conference.

Politics is difficult

Democracy is good.

We shall discuss this question

And determine our mood.

Выступления участников конференции /фонетическая отработка основных понятий и лексики по теме/ First we’ll speak about the political system of the UK.

1. Pupil: Legislative power , an executive branch

         The first makes laws

         The second determines

         How useful the work was.

2. Parliament represents the legislative branch of power

  The Queen signs the bill.

  The Government represents the executive branch of power

  And it can challenge the Queen’s will.

Teacher: Now say some words about the political system of the USA.

3. Pupil:

The United Kingdom is a parliamentary monarchy

The United States of America is a federal republic.

The difference must be clear to the public.

4. The system of check and balances works in the USA

We must understand how it works and what to say.

5. 50 states are different, their government system are different too.

It is important to understand whom what rights belong to.

Teacher: What can you say about the political system of Russia?

6. The political system of the Russian Federation has no discrimination.

The President guarantees the basic rights

The Federal Assembly and the Federal government listen to his advice.

The people over 18 elect them all.

The political system of the Russian federation isn’t complicated at all.

7. Remember, Russia, you are great

Not in the fields of battles past,

But in the green fields, full of wheat

And forests, gardens, free of dust.

I love you deeply, dear land

Your hills and rivers, sand on strand,

Your songs and dances, lakes and seas,

Your beast and fish, birds in trees,

Your sunrise is a splendid sight

Which  gives me always such delight.

Teacher: Thank you, we’ll continue our conference and speak about the political systems of the countries in detail.

2. Закрепление и обобщение учебного материала.

  1. Рассказы  трёх участников конференции о политических системах Соединённого Королевства, США  и России, используя схемы государственного устройства этих государств, отвечая на вопросы:

1. What are the differences in the political systems of the UK, the USA, the  Russian federation?
2. What is special in the political systems of these countries?

Рассказывая, учащиеся использовали таблицу:

На этой таблице наглядно видно различие в политических системах стран и их особенности.

Teacher: Thank you for your good  work. Now let’s work together and do the following tasks.

Учитель раздаёт учащимся карточки с заданиями, ответы проговариваются, после  выполнения заданий каждому ученику раздаётся короткий тест, который тут же проверяется.

3. Выполнение тестовых заданий в группах /по 2 человека/ и индивидуально /тест/

a/ Cross out the words that don’t match the idea of democracy:

integration, liberal, racist, separatist, peace, democratic, ethnic harmony, fascism, constitution, constitutional.

         b/ Find the definition of the following words:

monarchy, democracy, parliament, parliamentary monarchy, president, constitution.

1. A set of laws guaranteed to the citizens /constitution/
2. When people have a lot of freedom /democracy/
3.  Elected head of the state /president/
4.  When there’s a monarch and a parliament  at the same time /a parliamentary monarchy/
5. A group of elected people who discuss problems and make laws /parliament/

c/ Name the functions of these power structures: 

the President, Congress, the Administration, the Supreme Court, the Cabinet.

1. Heads of the most important departments /the Cabinet in the USA/
2. The branch of power consisting of the President , Vice President and the Cabinet   /the Administration in the USA/
3.  A judicial branch /the Supreme Court/
4. The branch of government consisting of the House of Representatives, the Senate /Congress in the USA/
5. The leader of the party winning in the elections /the President/

          e/ Match the words with their definitions:

1. an absolute monarch

           f/ Find the right translation:

1. The democracy we see around the world often has an ugly face.

а/ И мы видим, что демократия и мир вокруг нас нередко имеют безобразный лик.

2. Suppose the election was free and fair.

а/ Подразумевается, что выборы были бесплатными и благоприятным.

    g/ TEST.   Choose  the  correct  variant:

4 . Объяснение домашнего задания.

Teacher:  At home please do the crossword about one of the political systems – in the UK or in the USA or in Russia. Use the material of our conference and your knowledge of the subject.

 5.Подведение итогов работы участников конференции – оценивание учащихся, подведение итогов урока.     

6.  Заключительный этап урока . Рефлексия.

Teacher:        We spoke about the political systems of different countries and I hope that our conference was a success.  What do you feel? Was our  work successful?

 I think I worked hard. The conference was a success.
