Внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку.

Тема: The Beatles forever

Цели:

1. Познакомить учащихся с популярными песнями группы «Beatles» и с историей их создания.
2. Совершенствование слухопроихносительных навыков, речевых навыков, развивать интерес к изучаемому языку.

Оборудование: презентация с текстами о группе, тексты песен, фонограмма к песням.

Ход урока

1. Оргмомент.

Teacher: Good morning, boys and girls! Nice to see you. Today we are going to have a lesson “ The Beatles forever”.  We will listen to their famous songs and sing them, and we’ll know many interesting facts about their life. Look at the blackboard, there are some photos and posters with the members of the group.

2. Развитие навыков произношения  и аудирования.

Teacher: Well, we’ll start our lesson with their song “ Hey, Jude”. It’s devoted to John                       Lennon’s elder son Julian Lennon who is also a musician. Let’s listen to the song.

Teacher: And now we sing! Look at the words on the interactive blackboard and repeat after Beatles!

Pupil 1: The Beatles were one of the most successful pop-music groups of the 1960s. Also called the Fab Four, this quartet of British musicians created a body of songs and recordings that many people still enjoy. John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr developed devoted fans as the Beatles.

Pupil 2: The group began in the working-class neighborhoods of Liverpool, a port city in northern England. The Beatles' first recorded song was "Love Me Do" (1962). The group had its first hit early in 1963 when the upbeat "Please Please Me" climbed to the top of the British charts.

Teacher: Thank you, boys for this piece of information. Now let’s go to the second song. The song “Because” is very lyrical and gentle. It’s one of John Lennon’s compositions, made by him when Joko Ono( his wife) was playing the piano from Beethoven. Let’s listen to the song.

Teacher: Now, let’s try to sing together with the Beatles!

Pupil 3: By April 1964 the Beatles held the top five spots on the U.S. singles charts.

Pupil 4: In 1968 the Beatles founded their own record label, Apple. They recorded the popular albums The Beatles (1968), Abbey Road (1969), and Let It Be (1970). By that time the pressures of fame were tearing the band apart, and the Beatles officially broke up in 1970.

Teacher: The song “Yellow Submarine” is very popular thanks to the cartoon film “Yellow Submarine” in which the Beatles fight against the monsters with the help of their music, love and justice.

Teacher: And we’ll sing this funny song        !

Pupil 5: All four members went on to their own musical careers—Lennon with his Japanese-born wife, Yoko Ono.

Pupil 6: McCartney sang with a new band called Wings and later as a solo performer.

Pupil 7: and Starr and Harrison were solo artists. In 1980 Lennon was killed in New York City; in 2001 Harrison died of cancer.

Teacher: But for us the “Beatles” are forever! The “Beatles” unite the people of different generations and different ages, because their music is wonderful, kind and exciting. And now we’ll listen to their the most famous song “Yesterday”. This song wrote Paul McCartney. It’s a lyrical ballad. It’s performed in thousand versions by other singers and became national pride of the English people.
