CLOCKS AND WATCHES

By Clive Sansom

Our great Steeple clock Goes Tick-Tock,

Tick-Tock.

Our small

Mantel clock

Goes Tick-Tack, Tick-Tack,

Tick-Tack, Tick-Tack.

Our little Pocket watch

Goes Tick-a-tacker, Tick-a-tacker,

 Tick-a-tacker, Tick.

TICK-TOCK

(A song')

“Tick-tock, tick-tock,”

 merrily sings the clock.

"It’s time for work,

 it’s time for play.”

So it sings throughout the day.

“Tick-tock, tick-tock,”

 merrily sings the clock.

Slowly ticks the big dock:

“Tick-tock, tick- tock.

Little clock ticks double quick:

“Tick-a-tock-a, tick-а, tick-a,

Tick-a-tock-a, tick!”

MORNING

By M. C. Davies

The little clock is friends with me,

It talks as plain as plain can be.

And says each morning as it rises,

“Now, don’t forget your exercises!

Both hands above your head, you know!

Then lower them very slowly so;

Oh, don’t get tired and stop, that way!

1 exercise like this all day.”

And so the clock then looks at me,

And I look back, and I and he Every morning when we rise.

Just exercise and exercise.

WHAT THE CLOCK SAYS

“Tick,” the clock says, “Tick, tick!

What you have to do, do quick.

Time is gliding fast away,

Let us act and act today

THE MOMENTS

The moments fly, — a minute’s gone; The moments fly, — an hour is run;

The day is fled, — the night is here; Thus flies a week, — a month, — a year.

WHAT THE CLOCK SAYS TO TEDDY

The clock says, “Eight!

Quick, you’ll be late.

Breakfast's ready,

Master Teddy.”

The clock says, “One!

Pudding is done.

Dinner’s ready,

Master Teddy.”

The clock says, "Five!

Cake will arrive.

And tea’s ready,

Master Teddy.”

The clock says, “Eight!

Put up your slate,

Supper’s ready.

Master Teddy!”

WHAT TIME IS IT?

(A song)

The clock on the shelf is striking!

What time can it be?

What time can it be?

Listen! Listen!

It’s five o’clock!

THE CLOCK

We’ll tell you the time

With a merry, merry rhyme.

We’ll tell you all the day:

Time to sleep and time to play.

CALENDAR SONG

By Margie Callender-Rule

Sixty seconds make a minute,

Something, sure, you can learn in it. Sixty minutes make an hour,

Work with all your might and power. Twenty-four hours make a day,

Time enough for work and play.

Seven days a week will make,

You will learn il pains you take.

HOW MANY?

By Christina Rossetti

How many seconds in a minute?

Sixty and no more in it.

How many minutes in an hour?

Sixty for sun and flower.

How many hours in a day?

Twenty-four for work and play.

How many days in a week?

Seven both to hear and speak.

How many weeks in a month?

Four and no more wants a month.

How many months in a year?

Twelve the calendar makes clear.

How many years in an age?

One hundred says the sage.

How many ages in time?

No one knows the rhyme
