Actors: A bear

            A hare

            A bird

            A fox

            A wolf

            A squirrel

            An owl

            A snake

            A Christmas tree

            A witch

            A story teller

            A translator

            Snowflakes

ST: Once upon a time in a big big forest in a fare-away-kingdom there was a fir.

A Little fir grew in the midst of the wood
Contented and happy, as young trees should.
       His body was straight and his boughs were clean;
And summer and winter the bountiful sheen
Of his needles bedecked him, from top to root,
In a beautiful, all-the-year, evergreen suit.

CT: Oh, it’s sooooooo cold. Today is 24 of December and it’s snowing. Little snowflakes are dancing

A dance of snowflakes

Animals come

Hare: Hoooooooooooooooooray! It’s winter!

Fox: Yeah! Stop! What date is it today?

Owl: Let me think

         Thirty days has September,

         April, June and November;

         February has twenty-eight alone,

         And the rest have thirty-one,

         Excepting leap-year, that’s the time,

         When February days are twenty-nine.

         Oh, I don’t know.

A tree is showing a calendar and jumping with it trying to attract their attention.

CT: Look at me! Look!

Fox: Oh, a tree. It’s trying to show us something.

Hare: I know, I know it’s a game! Don’t tell us! We must guess! Mmmmm…A monkey?

Tree is jumping higher showing the calendar more violently.

Bird: It’s got something in it’s paws! It’s a card with the number 24

Tree is beginning to bump its head with the card in despair

Wolf: No! It’s a secret code! Let me think- oh, right! Today’s 24 December – the Christmas Eve.

Squirrel: But we don’t have a Christmas tree! What a pity!

CT: I’m a tree! You can decorate me. Me! ME!

Hare: Stop shouting! What a nervous thing! A minute ago you were showing us strange pictures silently and now you’re shouting. You need to relax I tell you.

Fox:  Last night I had a lovely dream,
But strange as it could be,
For on the hill beside our house
      Stood a great Christmas tree.

Bear:  One little star on the top of the tree,
Two little presents underneath for me,
Three silver ropes twisted around the tree,
         Four colored lights shining prettily

Bird: We have a tree! Let’s decorate it and have a Christmas party!

Sing all together: Oh Christmas bay hey hey hey hey

We’ll have a tree hee hee hee hee,

And it will snow ho ho ho ho

For you and me hee hee hee hee

Fox: I have a new collection of exclusive toys from Paris

Takes a box with toys and starts to decorate the tree singing:

Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bob tails ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to laugh and sing
A sleighing song tonight

Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh

Squirrel: We need some candles to light it! Let’s go and seek!

All together: Let’s go!

A witch comes and goes around the CT. It looks at her and tries to hide.

Witch: What a nice green tree! Sooooooo fresh! Sooooooooo wonderful! Ugly animals! They wanted to celebrate Christmas without me! I’ll poison their holiday! I’ll take their three to my home and without it there will be no Christmas. A-ha-ha-ha!

She puts a robe around the tree a goes away with it.

CT: Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!

Animals coming and talking

Fox: I tell you – those red ones aren’t good! Red is out of fashion!

They see that tree is out and stops in astonishment

Wolf: Oh, our tree! My precious!

Falls unconscious. All the rest are in panic!

Bird: What shall we do?

Bear: Oh, we won’t have Christmas!

Owl: Stop! We need a plan!

Bird: We’ll rescue it.

Wolf: We’ll be a rescue rangers like chip and dale!

Sing the song

Squirrel: A witch has stolen it!

Bear: Let’s go to her house!

Goes away

Witch comes with a tree on a robe.

Witch: You’ll stand here still and be my tree! I’ll decorate you with frogs and snakes.

CT: NO!NO!Heeeeeeeeelp me somebody!

Animals come

Wolf: A tree!

Falls unconscious

Bear: Give back our tree!

Witch: No! First entertain me! Dance me something Christmas!

Dance

Witch: Ok! Now, tell me a poem!

Bird:  Someone in the sky last night
Had an awful pillow fight,
And when I woke today I found
All the snowflakes on the ground.

Hare: Every body Pauses and stares at me
These two teeth are gone as you can see
I don't know just who to blame for this catastrophe!
But my one wish on Christmas Eve is as plain as it can be!

All I want for Christmas
is my two front teeth,
my two front teeth,
see my two front teeth!

Gee, if I could only
have my two front teeth,
then I could wish you
"Merry Christmas."

It seems so long since I could say,
"Sister Susie sitting on a thistle!"
Gosh oh gee, how happy I'd be,
if I could only whistle (thhhh, thhhh)

Witch: Mmmmmmmmmmm, I like it and now answer my questions – if you do this I’ll give your tree back.

Animals stands in a line: We’re ready!

Hare: Great! Riddles! I like riddles. I’m the champion!

Witch: The first riddle-what is the same colour all year round?

Hare: a monkey?

Wolf: It’s a tree! Our Fir!

Witch: Agrrrrr. Right!

Witch: Second – It takes off a piece of its clothing each day, by the end of the year it has nothing left to wear.

Bird: a calendar!

Witch: oh, yeas, you can take it.

CT: Uhooooooooooooo!

Bear: witch, you can come to our party, let’s have a holiday all together!

CT:

I'm your Christmas tree, all brightly lit,
Hung with angels, colored balls, and elves.
Underneath my boughs your presents sit,
If you've behaved yourselves.

Owl: “Christmas is forever, not for just one day,

for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away

like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf.

The good you do for others is good you do yourself. ”

All sing “We wish you a merry Christmas”
