I decided to get into the University of Cambridge. It is the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world (after the University of Oxford), and the third-oldest surviving university in the world. Brief history Cambridge was founded around 1209 by Oxford scholars after a bitter disagreement with local townsmen. The colleges at the University of Cambridge were originally an incidental feature of the system. No college is as old as the university itself. www MORE

Applications procedures www MORE The deadline for Cambridge applications was 15 October, which is much earlier than for most other universities. Shortly before the deadline for submitting applications to Cambridge, you must went on to the UCAS website and applied. Shortly after completing your online application, you were asked to send in some of your old school essays to give your future tutors some examples of my academic work. And soon after that you can get an invitation to go up to Cambridge for some interviews.

Russian students www MORE In 2010-2011 academic year the number of the Russian students was 20 on a bachelor degree and 36 – in a magistracy and postgraduate study. The number of demands from the Russian students grows every year (in 2009 - 18, in 2011 - 30), but the quantity of the offered places, unfortunately, remains rather low: in 2009 - 4, in 2011 – 5 students from Russia were accepted to Cambridge on programs of the first higher education.
