Урок английского языка рассчитан на учащихся 5 класса. Основными образовательными задачами являются изучение новой лексики по теме "Здоровье", расширение словарного запаса и изучение модального глагола "should".

Тема урока: «Здоровье и забота о нём»

Цель урока: Развивать навыки речевой компетенции по теме «Здоровье и забота о нём».

Задачи:

  1. Закрепить знание лексики по теме «Здоровье и забота о нём»
  2. Отрабатывать умение давать совет с помощью структуры “you should…”
  3. Развивать навыки информативного чтения.
  4. Развивать навыки понимания иноязычной речи на слух.
  5. Развивать навыки произношения.
  6. Повышать мотивацию к изучению иностранного языка.

Оснащение урока:

Ход урока.

  1. Организационный момент (1 мин.)

What date is it today?

Who is absent? What’s the matter with them?

We wish them to recover as soon as possible.

Well, children, the theme of our lesson is “At the Doctor’s” and today

 We’re going to practice giving a piece of advice, reading the text and making a dialogue between a doctor and a sick person.

  1. Вводная часть (5 мин).

Повторение пройденной лексики

  • First of all let’s revise some useful words. Divide into two teams and begin to say the words on topic “Health”, the team which remembers the last word is the winner.
  1. Основная часть

Тренировка модального глагола should/shouldn’t (5 мин)

  • Look at the pictures of some people. Say what’s wrong with them.
  • Now let’s remember how to give a piece of advice. Which words do we use? (should/shouldn’t) Give a piece of advice to those who are ill (the table will help you).
  1. If you have a sore throat
  2. If you have a toothache
  3. If you have a backache
  4. If you have a high temperature
  5. If you have a headache

a). you should go to a dentist.

b) you should do some exercises.

c). you should stay at home and phone to the doctor.

d). you should put on a warm scarf and drink hot milk.

e). take some medicine.

Аудирование (проверка домашнего задания) (10 мин).

It’s a pity but everyone feels bad from time to time. Do you agree with me? I asked you to prepare a short talk about your last illness at home.

Listen to your classmates, find out the reason why he (she) was ill and give a piece of advice to a person not to be ill again.

Работа с текстом (10 мин)

Now we’re going to read a text. Look! My sheets of paper have got a blue mark and a red mark. You can choose. If you do a blue task, you’ll get a “five”. If you do a red task, you’ll get “a four” because it is a little bit easier.

  • Look at the title. Can you predict what the story will be about?
  • Read it and fill in the gaps with proper words or phrases.

  • Answer the questions.

What was the weather like when Pete was going home from school?

Why did Pete fall ill?

What symptoms did Pete have when he came home?

What did Pete’s mother tell him to do?

How did Pete feel in the morning?

Pete’s mother called the doctor in, didn’t she?

Работа с диалогом (10 мин)

  • Would you like to know what Pete and the doctor were talking about?

Look at the task and try to guess who said these phrases.

Now I’ll give you these phrases. Put them into the correct order then read it aloud. Work in pairs.

Заключительная часть (2 мин)

  • Домашнее задание

Imagine that you are ill. The doctor comes to see you. Make a dialogue between a patient and a doctor. Use a dialogue between Pete and the doctor as a model.
