Where Live Wild ostriches live in the dry, hot savannas and woodlands of Africa once roamed all over Asia, Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, but because they have been hunted so extensively. They, wild ostriches ' range has been reduced to sub-Saharan Africa .
Colour Interesting Ostrich Fackts:Males,females and young ostrich have different colors.Males can be recoynized by black and white color.Females and young are usually grayish,brownish and white.
Appearance Ostriches have long legs and a long neck,but they have a small head.Male ostriches have black feathers and female ostriches have gray and brown feathers.Male ostriches can be 2.7 meters/ 9 feet tall,female ostriches are 2 meters/ 6.5 feet tall. They can run with a speed of about 65 kilometers per hour/ 40 miles per hour.
Difference Ostriches do not fly,but can run faster than any other bird.
Food Ostriches mainly eat plant matter,but they also eat insects.The plant matter consists of seeds, shrubs,grass,fruits and flowers while the insects they eat include locusts.Osrtiches do not have teeth,and so can not grind food as mammals do.
