FOOD WASTE

Слайд 2

Glossary Food waste – пищевые отходы Shelf life – срок годности World statistics – мировая статистика Industrial scale – промышленный масштаб Sanitary standads – санитарные нормы Unconcious consumption – неосознанное потребление Resource depletion – истощение ресурсов Decomposition – разложение Ozone layer – озоновый слой Engine fuel – топливо Unjustified exhaust – неоправданный выхлоп

Слайд 3

What food waste is ? Food waste – food products that completely or partially lost their original consumer properties in the processes of their production , processing , use or storage

Слайд 4

About food waste by volunteer from BELLONA organization

Слайд 5

World statistics Word statistics say : a third of all products produced on Earth do not reach the tables of consumers . According to the FOOD and Agriculture Organization , 1.3 billion tons of food goes nowhere every year

Слайд 6

Why are good products thrown away ? If we talk about industrial scale, then the products are thrown out in connection with sanitary standards. It is difficult for shops, cafes and restaurants to assess the flow of people, so the number of manufactured or ordered products cannot be controlled.

Слайд 8

Are ordinary people involved in this? Everything here is also very simple. People buy too many products and cannot consume them on time. Products expire; therefore, such products become non-edible. But if a large number of products were divided equally between people, then the products would have been eaten in time. This is called unconscious consumption

Слайд 9

Why it happens? This is because people still have not come to the realization that products do not fall from heaven. In order to produce a product, it is necessary to spend a number of resources.

Слайд 10

Why is that bad? Not all discarded food can decompose completely. This produces a large amount of pollution. Also, the decomposition of discarded products releases dangerous, poisonous gases that destroy the ozone layer. Do not forget that all products are produced in factories, which in turn operate on engine fuel. Therefore , an unfinished product leads to the emission of exhaust air. Moreover, completely unjustified exhaust, because the manufactured products were thrown away

Слайд 11

What can I do ? More people can say: I'm alone, how can I help you? But believe me, everyone can help and make a contribution to environmental protection. For example: 1. Think over your purchases. Make a list. Do not buy the product in large quantities if you are not sure that you can eat it. 2. Look at the packaging. Do not overpay for excess. Take bananas by weight without a package, do not buy them already packed. They are no worse. 3. Show creativity. You can make pancakes from sour milk.
