-Yes, you are quite right. So the theme of our lesson is “Talking about the Famous”. We are going to read and talk about some interesting facts of famous people.

1. Get together in 2 groups. Read the text by yourself for 5 minutes and fill in this table:

- O’K. Your time is up. Can you read your tables?

- Very good! You know I haven’t read this story yet, can you retell it. Use your tables.

- Well done, thank you.

-  Now I’ll divide you in four groups.

2. Numbers one get together, numbers two get together and numbers three get together, and numbers four get together. Every group will have a part of a text, read it and discuss. I’ll give you 2 minutes. (1 текст делятся на 4 части, группа №1 получает первую часть текста, группа №2 получает вторую часть текста и тд.)

- OK. Now get together in 2 groups and each number should retell his part of the text to the other students. You have 5 minutes.

(Учитель подходит к каждой группе и если необходимо, то исправляет ошибки.)

Joe was going into his usual bar before lunch when he saw a poorly dressed man fishing in a small pool of rain-water about five centimetres deep outside it.

Joe stopped and watched the man for a few minutes. He saw that most of the people who passed by him believed he must be rather mad.

Joe pitied the man, so after a few minutes he went up to him and said kindly, 'Hullo, would you like to come into the bar and have a drink with me?'

The fisherman was delighted to accept his offer, and the two men went into the bar together. Joe bought the fisher man a few drinks, and finally said to him, 'You've been fish ing outside here, haven't you? How many did you manage to catch this morning, if 1 may ask?'

'You're the eighth,' the fisherman answered merrily.

- Are you ready? The first group! You should answer these questions (учитель дает им карточку с вопросами), the second group! Write down only those sentences which are true (учитель дает им карточку с предложениями)

Технология 5W.

Каждая группа представляет свою таблицу и вешает на доску.

Технология  jigsaw:

учитель делит детей на четыре группы;  

каждая группа получает свою часть текста, учащиеся читают и обсуждают его в своей группе;

дети объединяются в свои группы и каждый номер рассказывает свою часть текста остальным учащимся, таким образом они узнают содержание всего текста.

Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы (1-ая группа) и зачитывают правильные предложения (2-я группа)
