СЦЕНА 1

Королева Гунивьера и служанка вносят горящие свечи, ставят на круглый стол и уходят. (играет средневековая музыка)

Входят рыцари, сэр Кэй, король Артур и садятся за стол и начинаю беседу.

The first knight: My king, everything is ready for the tournament. Every noble knight can take part in it.

The second knight: That’s a great news. The kingdom needs a holiday. Moreover, we need a hero.

The third knight: I feel that there will be a new noble and faithful knight in our kingdom soon.

King Arthur: Things happen. Let’s wait and see.

Раздаётся стук в дверь. Входит слуга и объявляет о приходе чужестранца.

Servant: Your Majesty, a stranger has come and wants to see you.

Sir Brune: My lord, my name is Brune. I can tell you no more than that.I ask you to make me a knight.

Sir Kay: He must be called The King with the Badly Made Coat.

Sir Brune: Call me as you like. I’ ll take this name, but I will not tell you my real one.

King Arthur: (in a kind voice): Young man, you ask a great thing. I must know where you come from, and who your father is.

Sir Brune: My lord, I can’t tell you that. But I’m a son of a noble man. He was as big as a giant. My good father was very peaceful and didn’t like fighting. Our family lived in our castle. But there was a man who wanted our lands. And once…

СЦЕНА 2

Королева Гунивьера и служанка задувают свечи и уносят их (играет средневековая музыка).

Лес. Отец сэра Брюна и Брюн пришли влес.

Sir Brune’s father: The day was tiring, my son. I want to sleep while you can practice doing archery.

Отец сэра Брюна засыпает под деревом. Сэр Брюн (мальчик) стреляет в дерево из лука. В этот момент к спящему отцу крадется незнакомец с мечом и убивает спящего человека и убегает.

Sir Brune (boy) Father, look! I have a good eye! Did you see that? Father …

Мальчик замечает убегающего человека с мечом, подходит к своему отцу. Отец мёртв.

Sir Brune (boy) Father no…. Please don’t die. No, father.

Then he took off his father’s coat and said:

Father, I promise never take this coat off and never tell anybody my real name until I kill your enemy.

СЦЕНА 3

Снова рыцарский замок. Королева Гунивьера и служанка вносят горящие свечи, ставят на круглый стол и уходят. (играет средневековая музыка) Рыцари сидят за столом.

Sir Brune. I was a young boy at that time so I decided to wait and practice a lot. I wanted to be strong. Now I ‘m sure I’m strong enough and here my lords, I am.

The fourth knight. My Lord, make him a knight. He is noble, sincere and strong enough to become a knight.

The third knight. I will teach him to use a sword and a lancer. Follow me the stranger.

СЦЕНА 4

Рыцарь и сэр Брюн отправляются во двор замка и начинают драться на мечах. В этот момент к ним подходит королева Гунивьера.

Queen Gunevere: Sir Brune, I see you are a skillful knight already. You fight perfectly.

Sir Brune: Thank you, my Queen. I’m trying to do my best. 

They heard a terrible noise.

Queen Gunevere: What a terrible noise! What can it be?

Они слышат страшный шум и вядят огромного льва, бегущего к ним на встречу. Сэр Брюн не двигается, спокойно  кладёт меч на землю. Лев набрасывается на него. Сэр Брюн хватает его руками за голову и ломает льву шею.

Queen Gunevere: You saved my life, a noble knight. Thank you.

В этот момент король Артур и рыцари приходят, видят мёртвого льва, всё понимают.

King Arthur:

A Knight in a Badly Made Coat, I make you a knight of my Round Table”.

Sir Brune: Thank you, my Lord.
