Являюсь руководителем районного МО учителей Суздальского района несколько лет. 5 лет назад предложила ежегодно проводить языковые мероприятия между школами района с целью  создания условий для формирования коммуникативной компетенции. Это были: "День Святого Валентина","В мире английской литературы", " Фестиваль современной английской музыки"," День юмора",Игра "Все цвета радуги". Предлагаю Вашему вниманию сценарий игры по страноведению.

Участники

команды из 6 человек 3-х школ.

Цели:

  • Практическая – систематизировать и обобщить знания учащихся  по теме  «Англо – язычные страны»;                                                                                                                                                                                            
  • Образовательная – расширить кругозор учащихся; формировать социокультурную компетенцию;
  • Воспитательная – создать положительную мотивацию к дальнейшему изучению языка;
  • Развивающая – совершенствовать у учащихся память, воображение, внимание, логическое мышление.

Оснащение мероприятия:

  • Карты 5 англо – язычных стран;
  • Символы и флаги;
  • Цветные иллюстрации достопримечательностей;
  • Портреты известных деятелей;
  • Подносы с вещами для конкурса.

План игры:

Compere: Good morning, everybody!

We are happy to see you at our school.

I trust you’re all fine today, aren’t you? The weather is wonderful. The holidays are coming and soon you’ll get a chance to put away all your textbooks and spend time with your friends. We’ve gathered together today to hold the festival of English language. Our competition will be devoted to 5 English-speaking countries: the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. I do hope that you’ve learnt a lot of interesting facts in your English lessons about these countries. I’m sure that you’ll certainly get more useful information today as well.

I wish you success. Be active, honest, industrious, helpful and you’ll be sure to win.

The participants of our party are students from Suzdal school № 2, greet them! (from Bogolyubovo secondary school, from Socol secondary school). And our guests are English teachers from Suzdal and Suzdal District.

Of course, the jury will be all eyes and ears following the game and helping to score the points.

Meet your jury:

No doubt, winning is the aim, but it’s only game. Don’t forget that. And now it’s time to begin the game itself.

ROUND 1 “INTRODUCTION”

   To begin with, let’s decide which team will be the first to start the round. Captains, will you come up and roll the dice? The captain with the highest number will get the right to begin the game.

So we hope that the jury will score the points and we are going on.

ROUND 2 “FURTHER AND FURTHER”

   Each team will be asked a certain number of questions about 5 English-speaking countries.

If you know the correct answer you needn’t wait till the I read the whole question till the very end.

You are allowed to interrupt me in order to save time. If you don’t know the answer, immediately tell me “Go on!” so as not to waste time.

One point will be awarded for every correct answer.

   I’ll show you several colourful pictures of some places of interest in these 5 countries. You have to name what they are and maybe give some information. Any member of the team can add something if they want.

ROUND 6 “CONTEST OF ACTING ABILITIES”

TASK: you should walk and imitate simultaneously the actions being described in the story while the compere tells it to them. Try to match your bodily movements to the various incidents.

“You are in one of the English-speaking countries. You are walking. Walking through a tropical jungle. It is afternoon, late afternoon. It is hot. Stuffy. You are sweating. The path is growing narrower and narrower. Suddenly you stop and listen. Then you move on. You are frightened. A storm is gathering. You hear thunder overhead. You try to hurry. The path becomes rougher: finally you lose it. Then you take out your knife and start hacking your way through the jungle. It begins to rain. A great tropical downpour. Your arm is tired from hacking and you sink to the ground. ”

 

ROUND 7 “Find the Symbols”

Now you’ll get some different things. Your task is to choose some of them, that can be associated with one of English – speaking countries. Not all of them should be used (a piece of coal, a sack with wool, a teddy-bear and so on).

ROUND 8

The last Round will be your mini-projects. Your task will be the next: Advertise the country you’ll get captains, choose the country. Use the style of ads.

Разрезать, как пазлы, 3 флага:

Австралии, Новой Зеландии и Соединенного Королевства. Смешать.

Задача: Собрать флаг Австралии, Новой Зеландии, Соединенного Королевства.

  1. Составить как можно больше слов из букв слова «Australia».

IV.   ПОДВЕДЕНИЕ ИТОГОВ ИГРЫ:
