  1. Hello, children! I’m very glad to see you. Sit down, please. I’ll be your teacher. At first, let me introduce myself. My name is Elmira Alfisovna.

II. SPEECH DRILL

  1. How are you? (I’m fine, thank you.)
  2. What do you usually do in the evenings?
  3. What are you doing now?

III. PHONETIC DRILL

  1. Today we will learn a new poem. Now look at the blackboard and listen to me.

I draw a bear.

Tom draws a bear on the chair.

They draw a hear.

Kate draws a hear under the chair.

  1. Repeat the poem line by line after me.
  2. Which grammar tense do you see in this poem?
  3. Yes, it’s the Present Simple tense. Come up to the board and underline these sentences.
  4. Good job!
  5.  Let’s read all together.
  6. And now change this poem, using Present Continuous tense.

I am drawing a bear.

Tom is drawing a bear on the chair.

They are drawing a hear.

Kate is drawing a hear under the chair.

IV. DEVELOPING GRAMMAR SKILLS

  1. Today we will write a test. But at first let’s remember when we use Present Simple and when Present Continuous tenses.
  2. Давайте вспомним когда же они употребляются. Present Continuous употребляется для выражения действий, которые происходят сейчас, в данный момент. В Present Continuous часто употребляются слова NOW  (сейчас),  AT THE MOMEMT (в данный момент).
  3. Present Simple мы употребляем, когда говорим о том, что происходит обычною. В Present Simple часто употребляются такие слова как: ALWAYS (всегда), USUALLY (обычно),  EVERY DAY (каждый день), EVERY MORMIMG (каждое утро).
  4. That’s good!
  5. And now come up to the board, please.
  6. Translate this sentence. (Каждый день я читаю книгу. – I read a book every day)
  7. Good job!
  8. Put this sentence into negative and into interrogative forms. (I don’t read a book every day. Do I read a book every day?)
  9. Transform these sentences, using the Present Continuous Tense. (I am reading a book now. I am not reading a book now. Am I reading a book now?)  

V. RELAXATION

  Hands up! Clap, clap!

   Hands on the hips! Step, step!

   Bend your left,

   Bend your right,

   Turn yourself around.

   Hands up! Hands down!

   Hands at sides and sit down!
