    In the weeks before Christmas people are busy. They make or buy Christmas cards and send them to their friends, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. They also buy Christmas presents.

    Many children make their Christmas cards at school. People buy Christmas trees and put them in their living rooms. The children decorate the Christmas tree with toys and little coloured lights. There are beautiful Christmas decoration in the streets.
On Christmas Eve everybody puts their presents under the Christmas tree. People say that at night Father Christmas puts presents into the stockings which children usually hand on their beds. The traditional Christmas meal is roast turkey and Christmas pudding. For most British families, Christmas is the most important festival of the year, it combines the Christian celebrations of the birth of Christ with the traditional festivities of winter.

this is the season

When mornings are dark.

And the birds do not sing

In the woods and the park.

I am December, the first winter month. December comes with white snow and cold winds begin to blow.

When children ski

And Grandfather Frost

Brings the New Year Tree.

I am January. I am the second month of winter and the first month of the year. The weather is cold. there is snow on the ground. Boys and girls kike to skate and ski.

In winter time we go

Walking in the fields of snow,

Where there is no grass at all,

Where the top of every wall,

Ewery fance and every tree,

Is as white as white can be.

I am February. I am the third winter month. It is cold and windy. The 23' of February is Army day.

Children like winter very much. Sometimes the weather is frosty and cold but pupils ski, skate, play snowballs and sledge. It's tinie'to listen to the poem "On a Cold and Frosty Morning"

Учащиеся делятся на две команды. Каждая команда получает по 20 снежинок, среди которых по 4 пары одинаковых. За 2 минуты команды должны отыскать парные снежинки. Побеждает команда, которая выполнила задание правильно и быстро. Во время выполнения задания можно включить музыку(английские песни)
