Task One. (Total score – 15)

Read the text and put the verbs in brackets in the correct tense aspect form.

School Now and Then

        Parents and teachers are always making (0) (compare) comparison between the time when they were (1) (child) and the present (2) (generate). They say everything was better than it is today, especially in (3) (educate). For example, they say they used to work much (4) (hard) in school, and that nowadays, we aren’t very interested. 4. For many people eating out means eating junk food. What food do you prefer – home-cooked or prepared by a chef at a catering establishment?

5. Life was much calmer and less stressful before mobile phones and World Wide Web were invented. How is life for you now?
