Here is a text about London parks. Read it and then do some tasks. (вот текст о лондонских парках. Прочитайте его и выполните несколько заданий).

LONDON PARKS

1. There are a lot of places to visit in London the Tower, St. Paul's Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, the British Museum. But most people say that the most beautiful things in London are its parks. There are some famous parks in the very centre of London. They are St. James's Park, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and Regent's Park.

2. Every English park has got its own story. In the 16th century Henry the Eighth was the English king. He loved hunting and told his men to find a nice place for it. That's how Hyde Park came to life. It was a hunting place for about 200 years.

Now it is open for public and you can walk or ride a horse there.

3. You can see St. James's park in front of the Buckingham palace where the Queen lives. It is a small park with beautiful flowerbeds and ponds. Many wild water birds - geese, ducks, pelicans live there and children and their parents come to feed them every day.

4. Regent's park is very famous among children too. London Zoo is there! There is a canal in the park and you can go boating!

5. Kensington Gardens is a nice place to walk among flowerbeds and tall trees! Near Long Lake in Kensington Gardens there is the statue of Peter Pan. Can you remember the boy from Never Land who didn't want to grow up? This was the place that Peter landed secretly by boat at night. Peter stands on the pedestal. He is playing the pipe and little children and small animals are listening to him.

6. Every London park has got something special but they all are lovely all year round. You know, it is not cold in London and in winter there is no snow on the ground. So the grass is always green there and you can see the flowers even in winter!
