All year round

«Времена года»- игра-путешествие для учащихся 4 класса.

Задачи:

Образовательная: расширение кругозора учащихся.

Развивающие: развитие познавательной активности и творческих способностей учащихся, формирование мотивации к изучению английского языка и умений использовать имеющиеся знания в новой коммуникативной ситуации.

Воспитательные: развитие интереса культуре и традициям других народов, умения работать в команде.

Оборудование: игру следует проводить в  холле школы, поставив вдоль стен 12 столов-«Станций» с соответствующими табличками-названиями месяцев. В центре зала можно поставить стулья для болельщиков. Роль месяцев могут сыграть учащиеся старших классов. «Станцию" можно украсить цветами, снежинками, разноцветными листьями, рисунками овощей и фруктов или другими аксессуарами, которые соответствуют тому или иному месяцу года. Необходимо подготовить тексты заданий, ручки, карандаши и бумагу для письменных заданий; оборудование для проведения игр. В конце игры все участники игры и ведущие должны собраться вместе, чтобы подвести итоги игры и разместить на календаре все собранные во время игры фишки. Ведущие должны назвать самых активных участников игры, которых можно отметить специальными призами. Всем участникам игры можно вручить памятные сувениры.

Teacher: Good afternoon! Today we can make a very interesting travelling. We can travel in different seasons of the year. There will be 12 stations on your way. In every station you should do a task. If you do it well, you can get a special chip to put on tins calendar. If you fill all the blocks in your calendar, you can get a price. So this is your calendar.

Station “January”

January:

Hello, dear friends! I am glad to see you! I am January.

January opens the box of the year

And brings out days that are bright and clear.

So, I am a cold winter month. And what do you know about me?

Pupils: January is the first month of the year. We celebrate New- Year’s Day in January. There are 31 days in January.

January: Yes, you are right. It is very cold in January. Let’s play a funny game and we can get warm.

So, you should name the clothes we can wear in winter. If you can’t name them you should give me something you have, for example, a pen, a pencil.

(Члены команды называют предметы одежды, которые мы надеваем зимой: a sweater, jeans, trousers. Если кто-то из членов команды не может назвать слово, то он отдаёт Январю фант: ручку, карандаш и т.д. Когда все возможные слова названы, начинается игра в фанты. Январь просит всех членов команды встать в круг. Январь встает в центр круга. Члены команды по очереди спрашивают его, что должен сделать владелец фанта.)

January: Please, make a circle. Ask me: “What should this forfeit do?”

Pupil 1: What should this forfeit do?

January: He or she should ski.

(Владелец фанта должен показать, как он выполняет это действие. Январь называет действия, которые дети обычно выполняют зимой: Не or she should skate. He or she should sledge. He or she should make a snowman. He or she should play snowballs. После того, как действие выполнено, фант возвращается владельцу.)

January: Well done. You can have the first chip for your calendar.

(Январь вручает команде вырезанного из плотной бумаги снеговика с надписью "January”.)

Teacher: It’s great. Go on your travelling to the next station.

Station “February”

February: You are welcome. I am February, the shortest month of the year. I think you like me very’ much because this month von can celebrate one of the nicest holidays. What holiday is it?

Pupils: It is Valentine's Day.

February: Yes, your answer is right. And do you know the symbols of this holiday?

Pupils: yes, we do. They are Valentine cards, sweets, chocolate, hearts and flowers.

February: I agree with you. I can give you a chip when you do some Valentine chains correctly. На этих полосках бумаги вы видите некоторых сказочных героев. Вы должны правильно подобрать пары и склеить эти полоски.

(Учащиеся подбирают пары из полосок бумаги, на которых написаны имена: Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Cinderella, Prince, Dead Princess, Yelissei, Tliumbellina, Elf, Harry Porter, Hermione, Alice, Donald Duck, Snow White.

Должны получиться пары: Winnie-the-Pooh - Piglet; Cinderella — Prince; Dead Princess — Yelissei; Thumbellina - Elf; Harry Porter — Hermione

February: Very good. I see you like to read books and you know the names of famous friends and beloved. So you can get a prize. Take this chip, please.

Station “March“

March: Good afternoon! I am glad to see you at my station. Can you say some words about my month?

Children: Yes, we can. March is the first spring month. The sun shines brightly. The sky is blue. It gets warmer.

March: Do you remember what holiday is on the 17th of March?

Children: It's St. Patrick's Day.

March: It’s true. Do you know tire symbols of this holiday? Here I have some pictures. Choose the right ones and tell me about St. Patrick’s Day.

(Март дает детям картинки, на которых нарисованы символы разных праздников: тыква с вырезанными глазами и ртом, Санта Клаус, пасхальные яйца, пасхальный заяц, сердечко, листок клевера, человек в зеленой одежде. Дети должны выбрать листок клевера и человека в зеленой одежде и рассказать, что они знают об этом празднике.

Например:

«The 17th of March is a national holiday in Ireland -St. Patrick’s Day. People send greeting cards to their friends and relatives. On that day they wear green clothes and a shamrock. A shamrock is the national emblem of Ireland».

March: Well done. I am glad to give you this chip.

Station “April”

April: You are welcome in April. I am a very beautiful spring month. You can see fresh green leaves in the trees and first spring flowers in the fields and gardens. What holiday do the English celebrate in April?

Children: English people celebrate Easter Day.

April: And what Easter symbols do you know?

Children: The Easter symbols are Easter eggs and Easter rabbits

April: Of course, they are. There is a lot of fun for children on this day, isn’t it? It’s good to be out-of-doors and play Easter games. English children like them very much. And what about you? Let’s play an Easter game. Давайте встанем в круг. Один из вас будет пасхальным зайцем, он встанет в центр круга и закроет глаза. А мы будем передавать друг другу за спиной это пасхальное яйцо, и говорить такие слова:

Bunny, Bunny,

Your egg you can’t find.

Somebody has it,

Check behind.

Пасхальный заяц должен угадать, у кого находится яйцо. У него 3 попытки. Если он угадал, то тот, у кого находится яйцо, встает на его место в круг. Если зайцу не удалось угадать, у кого яйцо, он остается в круге. So, let’s start!

(Дети играют в игру.)

Station “May”

May: Hello! I am May, the month of flowers. People like me because I give them a lot of tulips, daffodils, daisies and lilies of the valley. I am the month of warm rains, the bright rainbow, green trees and busy bees. I would like to play a game with you. If you do it, I’ll give you a chip.

Children: All right.

May: So listen to me and try to remember the following motions.

Showers - your fingers are like falling rain (показывает движение).

Flowers - you should do the motion like growing flowers (показывает движение).

Trees - you should sway in the wind (показывает движение).

Bees - you should buzz and fly around like bees (показывает движение).

Sun - you should make a circle with your arms (показывает движение).

Fun - you should jump and sit down (показывает движение).

Dream - you should close your eyes (показывает движение).

Ice Cream - you should lick your lips (показывает движение).

M-m-m-m-m - you should rub your stomach and smile (показывает движение).

So, let's play together!

(Mай читает стихотворение и показывает движения, которые дети выполняют вместе с ним.)

May: And now you should do these motions without me. Who can be the most attentive?

(Май читает стихотворение, а дети выполняют движения сами. Тех, кто ошибся, Май просит выйти из игры: I am Sony-, but you should leave out game. Игру можно повторить 2-3 раза.)

Station “June”

June: Му dear friends! You are welcome in summer! Now you have a lot of free time because you have summer holidays. You can go to the summer camps and see a lot of interesting there. Go to the fields and forests and watch the wonders of nature. I’ve prepared an interesting task for you. Look at these pictures and these encoded words. Write these words correctly under the pictures.

(Июнь дает детям 5 картинок (на них нарисованы лягушка, белка, бабочка, рыбка и цветок) и 5 карточек с подписями для картинок, в которых перепутаны буквы. Дети должны расшифровать слова и сделать правильные подписи под картинками.)

Station “July”

July: Hi! My name is July; I am the second summer month. My weather is hot and sunny. I am rich because there are a lot of fruit and vegetables in July. There are a lot of berries and mushrooms in the forests. Let’s go to my garden. You can help me to gather my harvest. This is a basket. I’ll ask you riddles about different fruits and vegetables. If you guess what fruit or vegetable I mean you can put it into your basket Are you ready?

Children: Of course!

(Июль загадывает детям загадки об овощах и фруктах. Когда дети их отгадывают, он кладет картинку с этим овощем в корзинку.)

July: So, listen to the first riddle, please.

1.        This vegetable is long and green.

It is so tasty with sour cream, (a cucumber)

I always grow on the ground.

I always wear lots of coats,

I am the best food for the goats. (a cabbage)

3.        Look at me! My cheeks are red.

Make some salad and eat with bread.

I am juicy, I am sweet.

Would you like to taste a bit? (a tomato)

4.        You can see it on the tree Pick up it for you and me.

Make some jam or cook some pies.

This fmit is always sweet and nice, (an apple)

5.        You can't cook soup without it,

This vegetable isn’t sweet.

But for chips it is so good.

I think you like this tasty food, (a potato)

July: Eat a lot of fruit and vegetables. They’ve got a lot of vitamins. Remember the proverb: An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Take your chip and go to my brother August.

August: Hello! I am August. I am the last summer month. A lot of families go to the seaside or to the country to spend their holidays there. They often visit their relatives. Do you remember the words on the topic “Family”?

Children: Yes, we do.

August: Find 8 words on the topic “Family” and write them below. (По вертикали uncle, sister, niece. По горизонтали: cousin, aunt, father, brother, mother)

Station “September”

September: Good afternoon, dear guests! My name is September. 1 am the first autumn month. 1 am glad to see pupils at school again. You can meet your friends there and tell them about your summer holidays. You arc very busy at school again. You have different lessons every day. 1 know some pupils like Math. Let’s have a short Math lesson now. Look at this funny cow. You can see a lot of numbers there. Please, do the sums and say how old is the cow, the cat, and the bird. (The cat is 67 years old. The cow is 43 years old. The bird is 68 years old))

September: Oh, you can do sums very good. I am sure you always get good marks. And my mark for you is this chip. Run to the calendar and continue your trip to the next station.

Station “October”

October: You are welcome in October. In late October the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer. It’s colder and darker and cold winds blow. The leaves fall down from the trees. The year is ending. It’s time of a very funny holiday. Do you know what holiday people celebrate at the end of October?

Children: It’s Halloween.

October: You are right. And how do people celebrate this holiday?

Children: They have Halloween’s parties.

October: And who comes to these parties?

Children: Skeletons, witches, ghosts, pirates, black cats, goblins, and bats come there.

October: I have written a letter to my friend from Russia about this holiday. But somebody has spoiled it. Can you help me? Please, put the missed words.

(Октябрь дает детям испорченное письмо. Они должны вписать вместо клякс нужные слова: 31st of October; ghosts, goblins, bats; pumpkin; candle; Trick and Treat; sweets; trick.)

 Dear Sasha!

I would like to write you about my favourite festival - Halloween. We celebrate it on the * of October. On Halloween we dress up as witches, *, *, *, and *. We scare our family and friends. We make a face from a * - that’s a big, round, orange vegetable. Then we put a* inside so you can see it in the dark. We play *and*. We go to our neighbours' houses and they must give us *. If they don’t we play а * on them. It’s great fun! Do the Russians celebrate Halloween?

They have parties, they eat roasted turkey, popcorn and pumpkin pies. They have much fun playing some Indian games, because the Indians helped them to survive many years ago. Let’s play such a game. You know the Indians taught the pilgrims to hunt and to fish. So I am going to fish now. Положите руки на стол. Я буду читать стихотворение, как только я закончу его, вы должны быстро убрать руки со стола. Тот, чья рука будет «поймана», становится «рыболовом». Listen to the poem!

I am fishing, I am fishing.

I’ve been fishing for the whole day.

What a pity. I could catch nothing,

All the fishes have swum away.

December: I like it too. I like to decorate Christmas tree and give presents to my nearest and dearest. All the friends write resolutions at Christmas. They promise to be kind and polite next year. As for me, I promise to be nice to my brothers. And what will you promise to do next year? I want you to write some resolutions, too.
