WARMING-UP

I. Organizing the group

  1. Greeting
  2. Immersion

3. Short information about the aims and the objectives

-Today we are going to revise and to consolidate our knowledge on the grammar theme “The Passive Voice”. I want you to do some tests on this theme. I am going to remind you  the topic “Bullying” and to introduce you with the technique Cinquain.

-So, let’s begin. First of all, let’s check up your Homework.

MAIN BODY

II.  Checking up Homework  (Phrasal verbs, ex-s)

III. We’ve done a lot of ex-s on the theme “Passive voice”. I’d like to add a few words in order to give you some more information. (ppt).

This ppt will be loaded in eljour.

IV. Well, now, to consolidate your knowledge and to see how well this grammar theme  has been learnt by you I expect you to do some tests. (Hand out 1, 2, 3).

Now exchange the works with your neighbour. Correct the mistakes if any, please.  Hand over the tests.

V. RELAXING PAUSE

I don’t want your eyes to be tired or overstrained so I suggest you to have a relaxing break and do a few exercises for eyes.

(Students do exercises for eyes)

-That’s enough. Thank you.

VI. We’ve already touched upon the topic which is closely connected with school life and teenage problems  -  “Bullying”. What is it? What is its definition? It means to annoy people deliberately, to tease and suppress them; to make people suffer, to make them unhappy. I think it’s a time to introduce you with the technique Cinquain.

So, what is “Cinquain”?

It is not the way to validate knowledge. It has some other task, more universal: to determine the associations at a certain stage of the lesson.

It consists of 5 lines:

                                     1 – one word - a noun - topic title (название темы)

2 – two adjectives - description of the topic (описание темы)

3 – three verbs - characteristic of the topic through actions (характеристика темы через действия)

4 -  four words – a phrase expressesing the author's attitude to the subject of the topic  (фраза, выражающая отношение автора синквейна к теме)

                                     5 – one word – a noun – a synonym to the topic  (синоним к теме).

VII. Let’s create a Cinquain on the topic “Bullying”.

FOLLOW UP

VIII. Summing up

We’ve done a lot of work today. You’ve done everything I want you to do: worked on the theme “The Passive Vice”, did the tests. Now you know what Cinquain is.etc. I believe you’ve worked well. I’m really pleased. Your marks are good and excellent.

IX. Reflection

-So, our lesson is nearly over. Did you like our today lesson? Was it interesting? What new have you learned?

X. Home Task
