Цели урока:
обучающая: познакомить учащихся с географическим положением Лос Анжелеса и Голливуда;
развивающая: развитие способности систематизации, сравнения и обобщения информации; развитие познавательного интереса к изучению иностранного языка;
воспитательная: формирование у учащихся толерантного отношения к достопримечательностям и памятникам культуры страны изучаемого языка;
практическая: отработать навыки употребления словосочетаний, выражающих уверенность и неуверенность высказывания, навыков чтения, устной монологической речи;
Ход урока
I. Организационный момент: (T – Ps)
- Good morning, children! We have an unusual lesson today. Today we’ll visit one of the most beautiful city of America Los Angeles and its suburb Hollywood and we’ll learn some word combinations which express assurance and uncertainty.
- Brainstorm
But before we get acquainted with this city I’d like to listen to what you know about the USA.
- What do you know about America?

Teacher: Well, that great. You know about this country a lot.

But let’s read some geographical names and the words we’ll meet this lesson.

(Объяснение учителем случаев употребления данных выражений и выполнение упражнений)

Далее ученики приводят свои примеры употребления данных словосочетаний)
III.2. Работа с текстом “Welcome to Los Angeles”
Teacher: Well, boys and girls, will you read the text and then we’ll discuss it. You have 5-7 minutes to look it through.
Ok, did you understand the text? Are there many new words? I’ll give you some in Russian, you are to give their English equivalents.
Успешный, чувствовать себя в безопасности, увидеть (разг.), достижения, привлекать внимание, в спешке, шедевр, не обращать внимания, тротуар, огромный торговый центр.
Teacher: Well done! Smart you are! The next task is to choose the best translation for the following sentences. (упр. 6 стр.148)
Teacher: And now let’s check how well you understood the text. Do the Hollywood Quiz. (упр. 8 стр. 151)
Well, one more task (упр. 10 стр. 152). Look through the text once more and find the sentences with a similar meaning if there are some.
IV. Презентация мультимедийного ролика
Teacher: We’ll show you a small presentation about LA and Hollywood and Kristina will be our guide. She’ll tell us some new information and remind the material we’ve learned at this lesson.
V. Подведение итогов. Домашнее задание:
Teacher: Well, well. Our time is up. At the lesson we did a lot. We spoke, listened, and wrote exercises. Good for you.

You can see all the stars as you walk down Hollywood Boulevard Some that you recognize, some that you’ve hardly even heard of People who worked and suffered and struggled for fame Some who succeeded and some who suffered in vain.
