Урок в 11 классе в рамках подготовки  ЕГЭ  (Grammar &Word Formation)

  1. Организационный момент

T: Hello guys, hello dear colleagues. Thank you for coming. It’s pleasure to see all of you here today. Today we’re going to revise our knowledge about English State Exam and its part Grammar and Word Formation in particular.

  1. Brain-storming

T: before we start, guys I’d like to chat with you for a while. Hope you wouldn’t mind answering my questions.

  • How many lessons do you have today?
  • What lessons do you have besides English?
  • Which lessons do you enjoy most of all? Why?
  • How do you feel right now?
  • What are you going to do after this lesson?
  • How do you feel about exams?
  • What exam will be the most difficult for you?
  • Will English be hard for you?
  • Who do you think will be the best in your group?
  • We’ll see…
  1. T: most of you are going to pass this examination. You know, that the Exam consists of 5 parts. Which parts does it consist of?  - What part of the exam do you find the most difficult? – What part is your favourite? And today we are going to revise the strategy of grammar and word formation. We have been doing such exercises for two years. But you need to repeat it all the time just to succeed in them.
  2. T: Let’s start with the grammar.  What are you to do in this section? (to put the word given into the correct grammar form).  First of all you have to try to  understand the meaning of the sentence or the sense of the context. Filling the gaps, decide about the tense form and part of the speech. If you see a verb, which is the most common part of the speech in the exam, what should you check? (active or passive, then you should decide about a tense form) We take it for granted that you know grammar tenses well, but practice is the best of all instructions.

T: I need an assistant to help me hand out the practice papers. Thank you. Take the paper. As it was said the first step to do is to find out whether the word given is in active or passive form.

T:  Ok. But if we see a verb it may also be a participle. What participles do you know? How are they formed?

T: It is very possible to see an adjective in the exam paper. What grammar section does it refer to? (comparisons)

T: And last but not least is pronouns. They are different types of them: subject, object, personal, reflexive, possessive.

T: Perfect. Now I’d like you to open your books on page 42.

The next task in this section is word formation. To fulfill it successfully we need some revision of suffixes and prefixes. So, one more paper.

  • Sometimes we need to form an adjective with a negative meaning. What prefixes can we use for it? Let’s turn this knowledge into practice.
