Sherlock Holmes’s Biography Sherlock Holmes was born on 6th January 1854, and for more than a century his name has been known in every country of the world; and not only his name, but his appearance too.

Some facts in his life In1881 Holmes got acquainted with doctor Watson. In 1891 after fight with professor Moriarti, Holmes is missing. During the period from 1891 to 1894 Holmes was in hiding. In 1904 Holmes leaves from leaves from London to Sussex .

L ogic His stories are of some interest to logicians and those interested in logic to try to analyse just what Holmes is doing when he performs his deduction .

Logic " From a drop of water ," he writes , " a logician could infer the possibility of an Atlantic or a Niagara without having seen or heard of one or the other ."

Inference For instance , by studying inanimate objects , Holmes is able to make astonishingly detailed deductions about their owners , including Watson's pocket-watch in " The Sign of the Four ” .
