Part 1 - Lifestyle To be healthy is very important. You can work, learn and have fun only when you are healthy. Health is the man’s greatest wealth. Of course, you can inherit some problems from your parents. But you can always keep your health if you want to.

As for me to be healthy does not mean to be a top-model or ballet dancer – they are skin and bones. That is not natural. The human body needs about 10% fat but not more. So the first rule is not to be over or underweight.

What makes a healthy lifestyle? A balanced diet Doing regular exercise Drinking a lot of water Having a good rest Having enough sleep Being in a good mood Having fresh air

It’s ok if you go to bed late occasionally but if you regularly cut down on your sleep, it will soon start to have a bad effect on your skin. If you get a good night’s rest, it will do your appearance the world of good. It is not called beauty sleep for nothing! Lack of sleep can cause acne or dry skin. Make sure you get a good night’s sleep by going to bed and getting up at regular times: don’t burn the candle at both ends. During the day keep active: if you don’t get enough exercise during the day, you may end up sleepless all night.

Part 2 – Eating habits People in all times understood how important food is. To be healthy you need vitamins and fibre. You should eat fruit and vegetables.

The English say “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” It is because apples have vitamins . The most important vitamin is vitamin C. You can find it in lemons , oranges, cabbages.

But if you eat fruit and vegetables, it does not mean that you keep to a healthy diet. You should not eat much chocolate, pasta, cakes, sweets. They have much fat and sugar. This food gives a lot of energy, if you do not work it out, it becomes fat in your body.

For your info Meat, fish, poultry, eggs and pulses are main sources of protein in your diet Fruit and vegetables should make up roughly a third of your diet Milk and dairy are essential sources of protein, calcium and vitamins The amount of foods containing fat and sugar should be limited in healthy diets Bread, potatoes, rice and other cereals are starchy foods and should make up around a third of our diet

Part 3 – A perfect body If you eat sweets and fat food from time to time, you have to exercise regularly. Many people jog, walk or cycle in their free time. Physical exercises help you to keep fit, have a good gain and figure. They also help you to loose weight and work out energy.

Most of us live in large polluted cities. If we got more fresh air, we should look healthier and more attractive. A brisk walk is one of the best things you can do for your circulation and appearance. Walking slowly is useful but a quick pace gets more oxygen into your lungs. So don’t just go for a pleasant stroll, try to find an area that doesn’t have much pollution and get moving.

Running is excellent exercise. Before you start running you should warm up first, using slow movements that makes all your muscles work. You should start exercising slowly, at a piece you can keep up for about 15-20 minutes. Try to exercise on soft ground as that will protect your knees and hips from too much stress.

There are a lot of advertisements both on TV and in newspapers of different pills and drops which can help you become slim and slender in two weeks. But you should know that to take medication without a doctor’s control is dangerous. All these pills can not work a miracle.

Part 4- Bad habits Today violence, AIDS, drugs and alcohol are more and more associated with youngsters. Almost half of teenagers have an experience with drugs, alcohol and sex under age of 16.

One in five 11-16 year-olds rarely discussed healthy eating. One in five skips breakfast, more than 16 per cent of girls also skip lunch. Many eat only chips, pizza, crisps and cola for lunch. They don’t get enough iron which is necessary for healthy muscles and for some reactions in the brain. The low iron levels could obesity, heart disease, less healthy bones and anaemia.

Facts and myths about your health Garlic prevents heart disease. Apricot is good for your skin. Green tea protects your teeth. Brown eggs are more nutritious than white eggs. Onion is good for your nerves. Eating raw goldfish helps to gain strength. Milk strengthens your bones. Cutting out certain foods is the fastest way to a healthy diet. Banana is good for your muscles. Cabbage may help prevent the development of cancer. Cranberry helps soothe your tired eyes. Eating only one type of food, such as grapefruit, helps to loose weight. Eating healthy means trying to consume a little less than you’d like to. Carrots are good for your eyesight. Milk is very good for children.

Conclusion. Our health depends on many things: the foods we eat, our good or bad habits, our physical activity. Many people think more about their health. They eat a lot low-fat food and fibre. Fat is thought to be the cause of disease. Besides, people believe they they should exercise more not to be fat. If you think you are putting on weight, you should avoid sugar and starch. You need more fibre in your diet- eat more fruit. Apples are a good source of fibre. If you want to build up your body and keep it healthy, don’t forget about proteins- eat enough meat and eggs.

Do regular exercise to improve your body. It will require your will and endurance. But the result is worth it! Start your training session with a warm-up and don’t forget about a stretch at the end. This simple advice will help you develop your muscles and be healthy.
