    NEED NOT/ NEED …?

    You need not  phone them. Mожете не звонить (отсутствие необходимости)

    Need I phone them? Надо?

    You need not have phoned them. Могли и не делать (а сделали)

    I need  to  phone them.

    DARE NOT/ DARE …?

    I dare not disturb them. Не смею

    I dare to disturb them.

    Предположение

    He must know your sister. должно быть. Не must be working hard. He must have forgotten her address.

    He may know your sister. может быть

    He might know your sister. маловероятно

    He can’t know your sister. Не может быть
