Основные цели и задачи: 

Практические 

• Обобщить и систематизировать знания учащихся по теме «Рождественские традиции в англоязычных странах»
• Укрепить межпредметные связи между английским языком и музыкой
• Создать ситуации успеха у всех участников мероприятия, что приведет в дальнейшем к более полному раскрытию личностных способностей учащихся

Образовательные 

• Расширить кругозор учащихся по теме «Праздники в англоязычных странах»
• Познакомить учащихся с образцами английского фольклора (на материале английских рождественских песен)

In Russia Ded Moroz  lives in Velikiy Ustuyg. He brings presents to the children with his granddaughter Snegurochka and rides a beautiful sleight. They put presents under the New Year tree. At the morning children find their presents. And they are very happy.

There is also another name for Father Christmas in Britain - Santa Claus. In Christmas  stories he lives in the North Pole. He visits every house and brings presents. Children believes that Father Christmas comes down the chimney (дымоход) and put his presents in our stockings.  On Christmas Eve children hang stockings for Father Christmas to fill with presents.

New Year in Russia.

Before this popular holiday you can see colorful decorations in the city streets and the shop windows too. The cities look beautiful. There is a beautiful big  New Year’s tree in the central square in the city. A lot of people go there to have fun, sing songs, dance and play games near the New Year tree at night and in the  daytime.Children believe Ded Moroz comes and put all presents under the New Year’s tree

    Most families have a New Year’s tree in their homes. They decorate it’s with tinsel, lights and toys. People set up fireworks and say “Happy Hew Year”! Singing song is another old tradition. The most popular is “A tree was  born in the forest”.

People eat delicious food jellied fish (заливное), meat in aspic (холодец), herrings in a “fur muff’(селедка «подшубой»), Russian salad («Оливье»), beetroot salad («Винегрет»), pickled vegetables (маринованныеовощи) and caviar (икра).

Celebrations in the USA

Some holidays which are marked (отмечаются)in the United States originated (возникли) in America.The most important holidays are celebrated throughout (празднуютсявовсехштатах) the USA. So is New Year’s Day. On this day people see the old year off (провожаютстарыйгод) and the New Year in (встречаютНовыйгод). Most people stay up all night (неспатьвсюночь), even children. At midnight many people go outside  and shout “Happy New Year”! Some people set off fireworks and blow automobile horns. Everybody exchanges presents and good wishes (обмениваютсяподаркамиипожеланиями).
