НА АНГЛИЙСКОМ ЯЗЫКЕ  НА ТЕМУ: «CHRISTMAS IN GREAT BRITAIN»

Классы: 8-11

Цели: - совершенствовать коммуникативно-познавательные умения, направленные на систематизацию и углубление знаний о традициях и обычаях празднования Рождества в Британии, обмен этими знаниями в условиях иноязычного речевого общения в монологической и динамической формах.

Задачи:

Учебный аспект: 
актуализировать имеющиеся знания у учащихся о традициях и обычаях празднования Рождества, совершенствование навыков выразительного рассказывания. 

Развивающий аспект: 
формировать социокультурную компетенцию учащихся, поддерживать интерес к изучению культурных традиций Великобритании, развивать мотивацию к изучению английского языка, развивать память, мышление, речь, языковую смекалку, внимание, учить умению включаться в беседу, проявлять заинтересованность, способствовать активизации интеллектуальных и познавательных способностей учеников, учить умению вести групповые обсуждения.

Воспитательный аспект: 
воспитывать культуру общения и поведения, воспитывать стремление к взаимопомощи, создать условия для формирования правильных взаимоотношений    в коллективе, расширить знания о культурных традициях Англии.

Средства обучения: мультимедийное оборудование,проекционный экран, раздаточный материал.

План мероприятия

1. Сценка из билейского сюжета «Рождение Иисуса Христа»

2. Музыкальная пауза. Песня « What child is this»

3. Как британцы готовятся к Рождеству:

- Сценка написания письма Санте.

- Сценка, в которой британская семья украшает елку, поджигает «святочное полено».

- Сценка с рождественской хлопушкой.

4.  Музыкальная пауза. Исполнение песни «Jingle bells».

5.  Викторина.

6.  Выполнение и защита проекта.

7.  Поздравительная песня  «We wish you a merry Christmas».

8.  Подведение итогов, награждение участников мероприятия.

Пояснительная записка

к методической разработке по воспитательной работе

на тему: Внеклассное мероприятие на английском языке:

«Christmas in Great Britain»

В связи с мероприятием, посвященным Рождеству Христову, учениками 11 и 8 классов были показаны миниатюры  на данную тему.  Для этого использовались  костюмы и декорации приближенные к тем древним временам. В миниатюрах были упомянуты такие  Евангельские персонажи как  Мария и Иосиф, Иисус в яслях, волхвы с востока и пастухи, которым были явлены три ангела. Каждая миниатюра сопровождалась соответствующими слайдами на экране.  Далее ведущими было рассказано об особенностях празднования Рождества в англоязычных странах. Для этого учащимися использовались самостоятельно изготовленные атрибуты, например:  камин, елка, святочное полено, подарки, которые британцами принято по традиции готовить за месяц  до праздника. Хочется подчеркнуть некоторые элементы костюмов, такие как чалма волхва, крылья ангелов, над которыми пришлось особенно потрудиться. «Изюминкой» показа стала cracker (хлопушка).

Christmas crackers, - так называют ее сами британцы.  Это  цилиндрические хлопушки в виде огромных конфет. В них вкладывают небольшой символический подарок – бумажную корону, которую потом надевают за праздничным обедом или другую безделушку – украшение, игрушку, конфету, кусочек бумаги с напечатанной на ней мудрой цитатой, шуткой, загадкой (главное, чтобы сюрприз был приятным). «Крекеры» принято разламывать (как правило, это делают два человека), что сопровождается резким хлопком, вспышкой и всеобщим весельем.

Далее учащимися под аккомпанемент были исполнены песни  « Jingle bells», «We wish you a merry Christmas» и проведена викторина на предмет усвояемости материала.

Открытый урок завершился раздачей подарков, позитивным настроением и дружескими пожеланиями  «Merry Christmas». После было сделано несколько общих фото.

      Данное мероприятие способствовало духовно-нравственному развитию личности учащихся, формированию таких положительных качеств как сострадание, милосердие, любовь друг к другу и окружающему миру, воспитанию положительного, уважительного отношения к британской культуре и более глубокому осознанию своей родной культуры.

на английском языке « Christmas in Great Britain»

Звучит рождественская песня на английском языке. На экране слайд №1 из презентации. В комнате полутемень, на столе зажжены свечи

Ведущий 1. Good morning, dear boys and girls! Good morning, dear guests! There are many holidays in our country and English-speaking countries. Our party is devoted to the most beautiful holiday – Christmas, which is loved by children and adults! (слайд № ).

Ведущий 1. (Слайд № ) Christmas is a religion holiday. It is the time when Christians around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, who was very kind and who loved children very much. Many Christians go to church to sing carols and to celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas day.

Ведущий 2. December 25 was chosen as the birthday celebration as Christ’s Mass.

(Cлайд № ) X-mas. This abbreviation for Christmas is of Greek origin. The word for Christ in Greek is Xristos.

Ведущий 1. Do you know that the Christmas story comes from the Bible? The baby Jesus was born in a stable. His mother was the Virgin Mary and his father was Joseph. The wise man gave Jesus gifts of gold. Because of this event the Christians celebrate Christmas. Let’s see how it was.

Ведущий 2: 2000 years ago there lived a young lady called Mary. She was going to get married to a good man Joseph. An angel came to Mary and told her that she would have the God’s son, Jesus.

  Mary and Joseph had to travel to be counted in a registry in the town of Bethlehem . Because there were already a lot of  people in Bethlehem at that time, there was no place for them to stay. One innkeeper finally let them take shelter in the barn that was in a cave. That’s where the son of God was born.

Ангел 1::

Наrk! The herald angels sing,

Glory to the newborn king!

Peace on Earth and mercy mild

God and sinners reconciled!

Ангел 2: Hark! The herald angels sing

Glory to the newborn King!

Ангел 3: Good Christian men, rejoice!

Manger Scene  

Участники выходят на сцену.

Mary: Look, Joseph, this is our son!

Joseph: Oh, he is so nice! Put him in the manger, Mary.

Мария укладывает куклу в ясельки; Иосиф присаживается рядом и оба супруга с умилением смотрят на младенца.

Ведущий: In this country there were shepherds in the field.  An angel came to them and said:

К пастухам, сидящим на другом конце сцены , подходит ангел в белых одеждах.

Angel: Don’t be afraid! I have great news for you, which you must share with everyone else. Today, God’s son has been born in Bethlehem. God is with you, here on Earth! Go and see him – he’s not in a palace, he’s wrapped in a shawl lying in a manger!

Shepherd 1 ( to the other): Let’s go and see what’s happened!

Ведущий : And they hurried and found Mary, Joseph and the baby lying in the manger.

Пастухи приближаются к Марии и Иосифу. Мария  показывает им младенца.

Shepherd 2: The God’s angel came to us and said that Christ, the Savior was born. It

is your son.

Ведущий : That night a bright sparkling star appeared in the sky above the cave where Jesus Christ was born.  It helped the three   magicians  find their way to the cave . The magicians brought their gifts to little Jesus Christ.

Мудрецы Востока, волхвы, пришли поклониться Ему и принести свои дары: золото, ладан и смирну.

Magician 1: I give you gold because that is the sign of a king, and you, Jesus, are the King of Heaven.

Magician 2: I give you sweet-smelling frankincense because that is the sign of God’s presence, and you, Jesus, are the God’s son.

Ведущий: Children, Christmas is a special holiday. When God came to earth as a baby, he gave us hope, he became our Savior . Christmas is about God’s love and the peace that comes from knowing Jesus.

Ведущий  (Cлайд №  ) As far as I know people prepare for this day beforehand. They buy presents, decorate their houses and send greeting cards. Today we shall find out more about Christmas in Great Britain.

Ведущий  Most people on holiday in the UK  stay at home with their family on Christmas day. Christmas is a truly magical season, bringing families and friends together to share their much loved customs and traditions. Do you remember the symbols of Christmas?

Ведущий. (Cлайд № ) Yes, of course. For example, Christmas Tree, Santa Clause  stockings, candles.,  pudding,jingle bells. ……..

Ведущий  We can't imagine  Christmas without  Santa Claus. 'Father Christmas' (or 'Santa Claus') has become the human face of Christmas. Pictures are seen  everywhere of the old man  with long white beard, red coat, and bag of toys.   Children are taught that he brings them presents the night before Christmas and many children up to the age of 7 or 8 really believe this is true. In shops or at children's parties, someone will dress up as Father Christmas and give small presents to children, or ask them what gifts they want for Christmas.

Ведущий Do you know that Santa Claus got his name from a man known as St.Nickolas who lived in Asia (in modern Turkey) in the fourth century. He gave his wealth to the poor and often to children. After he died the Dutch brought this legend to colonial America. Soon the Dutch name Sinter Kluas became Santa Claus.

Ведущий In most countries, it is said that he lives near the North Pole, and arrives through the sky on a sledge pulled by reindeer.    He comes into houses down the chimney at midnight and places presents for the children in socks or bags by their beds or in front of the family Christmas tree.

On the eve of  Christmas children hang their stockings so that Santa Claus could put presents into them : oranges, sweets, nuts and if the child didn't behave properly Santa Clause can put there a piece of coal as punishment.

John: I've got a lot of wishes. Mary, how many ones can I write about?

Mary: Oh, John, Of course, about only one. There are so many children all over the world, and all of them want to get presents for Christmas. And Santa has got only one sack. See?

John: Right you are, Mary. Only one...

(Оба пишут, сворачивают записочки).

John: Where shall we put our notes?

Mary: Certainly, on the window - sill. It is light here and Santa will see them.

John: Oh, no. Santa will come through the chimney, won't he? So let's put them in the flue.

Mary: A very good idea!

(Кладут записки в дымоход)

John, Mary: How clever of us.

(Убегают)

Ведущий  (Cлайд №) The traditional Christmas tree is a fir tree. It is also the symbol of Christmas. The decorating of the tree is usually a family occasion, with everyone helping.

 The Germans are believed to be the first to use the Christmas tree in their celebrations, and Martin Luther was the first to place a star on the top of the tree. This star represents  the star that appeared over the stable in which Christ was born.

In Great Britain the Christmas tree became popular when Queen Victoria raigned.

Ведущий  In the evening before Christmas people like to come to Trafalgar Square to look at the tree. On Christmas Eve the streets in London are decorated, too.

Christmas trees are set up in houses, in the streets and churches. They are always decorated with fairy lights, angels and small toys. In addition, little packets with nuts, candies and special biscuits are hung on the tree. Presents are put around the tree and artificial «frost» is scattered over the branches. AlsoI know that on Christmas Eve some people light candles in their windows.

Ведущий In English-speaking countries, the 26th of December  is a 'Boxing Day' because people usually visit their friends congratulate them on X-mas holidays and present gifts in big and small boxes. This word came from the custom which started in the Middle Ages around 800 years ago: churches opened their boxes in which people had placed gifts of money to poor people .

Ведущий  Oh, do you hear?  somebody is singing. 

Ведущий Oh, yes.   A little girl with her  mum are decorating a Christmas tree

 (Мама с дочерью украшают елку. Фоновая мелодия песни "Jingle, Bells!”. Дочь напевает песенку).

Diana: Mum, shall I hang this toy? (Разглядывая). It's very unusual.

Mum: Let me have a look. Oh, darling, it was made by my granny many -many years ago. I liked it very much.

Diana: Did you? Well, it will be on our Christmas tree.

(Повесила, отошла, посмотрела, перевесила). Perfect!

(Отец с сыном вносят в комнату "святочное полено”, несут его к камину).

Mum: Tom, what's the matter?

Dad: It's our Christmas surprise!

Diana: Is it? (Подходит, трогает полено).

Charles: I was talked about this old tradition.

Diana: What tradition?

Charles: Christmas log. It should burn for two days: today and tomorrow. The ash of the log is considered to be magic. It is said to treat for toothache.

Diana: Oh, it's like a fairy - tale.

Dad: Well, dear, our life would be too dull without fairy - tales. And Christmas is rich in miracle.

Diana: Right you are. Let's burn the log.

(Поджигают полено в камине).

Mum: Children, will you take the seats? (Показывает на кресла у камина). Let's think about Christmas present  to our postman , Mr. Green.

Dad: We should give him presents on the 26 of December.

Diana: Look here! As far as I know he is good at fishing. Let's give him a fishing rod.

Dad: It seems to me it's a splendid idea.

Mum: I find it rather good.

Charles: Wonderful!

 Diana (глядя на камин): Oh, what a nice postcard! Who is it from?

Dad: Mr. and Mrs. Jackson sent it some days ago.

Mum: They thank us for the money gift we gave them on the 21 - st of December.

Diana: Oh, yes. Mum, how old are they?

Mum: 68 years old.

Dad: It's very important to care about old people and to please them.

Mum: I absolutely agree with you, darling.

Charles, Diana: So do I.

Mum ( смотрит на часы): Oh, it's too late. It's high time to go to bed. Good night.

(Все уходят).

Ведущий . When people go to the shop for turkeys, crackers and presents, they also pick up holly wreathes.

Holly is an evergreen plant with sharp pointed leaves and red berries. People use holly to decorate their homes. It is a very old tradition. Long ago people began to put holly in their homes during the dark cold winters. They liked to look at holly and think about the spring and the sun.

Mistletoe is an evergreen plant with small leaves and small white berries. On Christmas Eve there is a bunch of mistletoe in every house.

Ведущий . Oh, how interesting! I have heard Branches of holly are put up behind pictures and mistletoe is hung over doors, so the young people have a chance to kiss the girls under it, plucking each time a red berry from the mistletoe. It is said that the girl who was not kissed under it at Christmas would not get married that year.

Ведущий 6. Today, Christmas trees are decorated with tinsel, lights and small ornaments which hang from the branches. Chocolate coins or chocolate shapes are also hung on the Christmas tree and the presents are put under the tree.

John: It's to Mum.

Mary: It's to Dad.

John: We love them very much.

Mary: The Lord! Help our parents, please.

(Убегают)

(Дети спят. Появляются родители со свечой, сладостями и подарками. Сладости кладут в рождественские носки, подарки - под елку).

Mum: It's to John. He wants to have a good football. Let's his dream comes true.

Dad: Mary is fond of the Beatles. It will please her.

Mum: Diana will be happy to have this perfume.

Dad: Charles is crazy about chess. He will be glad, I think.

Both: Oh, my God, we want our children to be happy! Help them, please. (Уходят).

Ведущий . Crackers are typically pulled at the Christmas dinner table or at parties. In one version of the cracker tradition, the person with the larger portion of cracker empties the contents from the tube and keeps them. In another, each person has their own cracker and keeps its contents regardless of whose end they were in. Typically these contents are a colour paper hat, a small toy, a small plastic model or other trinket and a motto, a joke, and a riddle or piece of trivia on a small strip of paper. The paper hats, with the appearance of crowns, are usually worn when eating Christmas dinner. The tradition of wearing festive hats is believed to date back to Roman times

Ведущий . A typical Christmas lunch includes turkey with cranberry sauce and pudding. Every young woman in each household helps to stir the Christmas pudding, if she wishes to be married that year. Usually a coin or two are hidden inside the pudding and part of the fun is to see who finds it. After the lunch they go to the sitting room to listen to the Christmas speech of the Queen, shown on TV.

Ведущий . Carol singing is an essential part of Christmas. No church or school is without its carol service. Carols may be traditional or by known composers they can express different feelings. Carols appeared in Christmas history about the fifteenth century.

Usually children come around in the evening to the front doors and start singing carols and people who live in these houses give children candies, nuts, pies and so on, to thank them for carol singing.

Ведущий . Jingle bells is the most popular song around the world  and of course the symbol of Christmas. Let’s listen to it.  Девочки поют песню Jingle bells.

Ведущие предлагают учащимся выполнить проект, используя ключевые слова, отображенные на экране. Им необходимо выбрать символы рождества, изобразив их на ватмане и защитить свой проект.

Ведущий . On holidays we usually congratulate our friends and family. We congratulate you on this holiday and we wish you Merry Christmas!

Ведущий : We wish you to be always happy, healthy, wealthy and wise!
