Today we’ll speak about professions. Work is an important part of our life. I am sure all of you think of your future profession.  There are a lot of professions and they can be divided into categories. Look at the professions, according to the categories.

Let`s talk about your desires and dreams.

Make, please, the conditional sentences about different professions, using this table and structure.

Учитель: Sometimes, it`s very difficult to make the right choice of profession, where your dreams will coincide with your skills and abilities.

What profession would you like to choose and why? Tell me, please, about it. (7 – 10 sentenses).

1. I`d like to be a manager, because I`m interested in Management and Marketing. I often look through the information on the Internet. it attracts me a lot of things such as sales and management.  Moreover, it is a profitable profession in our time. I speak English only but I am ready to study another language if my new position requires it. I have no work experience. but I think that being a skillful manager is worth it, even though it requires hard work.
2. My dream is to become a journalist. In my opinion it is very interesting and fascinating profession. I am interested in watching the news on television or some different online broadcasts, listening for the radio and reading magazines. I like everything connected with mass media. I write articles about school events, life of young people, jokes. I am sure that it brings me closer to my dream.
3. My name is Veronicka and I’m a high school student. At the moment my parents want me to pursue a career of an accountant, while I prefer being a vet. I have been interested in animals from my childhood. Once, I even saved the life of a cat. To become a professional vet I know I should study hard. The subjects that are most important for me include Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Maths and English. I know I’ll be doing my job with pleasure. I’m going to do my best to help animals and to keep them healthy.
4. Many people continue careers of their parents or grandparents but it is not the case with me. My mother is a teacher and my father is a vet. But I don’t want to be neither a teacher nor a vet. I want to become a computer programmer. I am interested in computers. My favorite subjects at school are Mathematics, Physics, Information Technology, English, Geography. My hobby is computer programming. I think that the profession of programmer can give many opportunities. Computers are the most changing sphere of modern technology. I am confident that I have the skills and knowledge to become a successful programmer.
5. Choosing a future profession is an important decision. It is very important to choose an activity that you like. I want to be a hairdresser. In my childhood I liked to comb my dolls and make braids. My career choice is according to the creative work. I`ll try to make people around me more beautiful and more confident.
6. Design plays a great role in the modern world. My Future Profession as a Designer. I like to study fashion trends and I sew clothes for myself. I have been attending art school for a long time, and learned to draw well. In the future, I would like to work for one of the companies of an apparel industry. In this case the garments of my design will become available on the mass market. I hope my dream will come true and I will create things that people will wear with pleasure.

2. Journalist – Э 3 in an hour, 9 hours in a day (24 working days in a month)
3. Vet – Э 2, 8 in an hour, 8 hours in a day (21 working days in a month)
4. Junior - IT specialist – Э 4 in an hour, 8 hours in a day (21 working days in a month)
5. Hairdresser – Э 2 in an hour, 8 hours in a day (26 working days in a month)
6. Designer – Э 3, 6 in an hour, 8 hours in a day (19 working days in a month)

        Count, please, the salary per month in euros, after that transfer to rubles according to the current exchange rate.

The current exchange rate for today: € 1 = 100 rubles

SALARY

1. Junior Manager –€ 440 = 44 000 rubles
2. Journalist – € 648 = 64 800 rubles
3. Vet – € 470,4 = 47 040 rubles
4. Junior - IT specialist – € 672 = 67 200 rubles
5. Hairdresser – € 416 = 41 600 rubles
6. Designer – € 547,2 = 54 720 rubles

Besides, you should know the word “wage”.

Wage = Salary+ Extra pay (Overtime) + Fee+ Bonus

Wage = Salary

Wage > Salary

Wage < Salary

In general   -    Salary is a pay for a person having a fixed payment.

• Wage is a pay for a person for working hours, wage labour.

Extra pay is a pay beyond their regular salary.

The wage can be more or less, depending from the working time and a salary.
