The word "music" in Greek means "the art of the muses." Music is an art form. Every art has its own language. Music is a part of our lives. First of all, it tells about a person, about people in general, expresses their feelings and thoughts, draws their character – embodies everything that is connected with a person. Life gives birth to music, and music affects life. Music can change a person's attitude to life, strengthen his willpower, and foster nobility and kindness in him. Beautiful music can beautify life, make a person better, kinder, and share both sorrow and joy with him. It gives people joy, hopes, and dreams, expresses the highest feelings and the most subtle experiences, and paints pictures of nature with sound colors. Music occupies a big place in our lives.
The music industry is continuously transforming, creating a unique soundscape that reflects the mood and trends of society. The year 2024 brought an explosion of new genres, blurring the usual boundaries between styles. I was motivated to study this topic by a dramatic change in the world of music and the emergence of many interesting and unusual genres of music and instruments. This topic is very interesting and further research will be conducted in the work, including new musical instruments, new genres, as well as the question of what awaits music in the future.

There is no doubt that music will continue to improve — what we are listening to now will go out of fashion and some will become classics, and some will be forgotten. In the future, neural networks will be used by people more and more often, and musicians are unlikely to be able to resist using them. This does not necessarily mean that music will be "devoid of a soul" — artificial intelligence will not do all the work, but will simply become a new tool in the hands of specialists.
Some experts believe that representatives of future generations will find it strange that in the 2000s people could listen to the same tracks several times. But there is an explanation for this — until now, music has valued not only melody, but also semantic content. But today, tracks that are designed as simply as possible and simply "rock" are becoming more popular. Therefore, by 2050, music can become much simpler and there will be a lot of it. At the same time, people will not have to search for musical compositions manually — all this will also be done by the neural network, based on the preferences of each user.
Thus, most music services are already working today: a person needs to choose their favorite music styles and the system independently gives them what they should like. It is impossible to say anything for sure about how musical instruments will change in the future. As mentioned above, it is possible that new sounds can be generated using neural networks — they probably won't have any problems superimposing different sounds to get new ones.
Modern music unites dozens of genres, including pop, rock, hip-hop, electronic music, indie, R&B, folk and many others. A characteristic trend is the mixing of styles, which leads to the emergence of new genres. Modern music continues to evolve, combining tradition and innovation, local and global influences. Technology opens up new horizons for creativity, and interaction with the audience makes the musical landscape even more diverse and dynamic.

Let's highlight the main key characteristics and trends of modern music.
1. General characteristics of modern music.
Modern music is a dynamic, multidimensional system that is in constant development. It is distinguished by:
- high degree of interpenetration of genres;
- Close connection with technological progress;
- Global distribution;
- active interaction with the audience;
- Multiculturalism and multistylistic.
2. The genre system of modern music.
Unlike past eras, the modern music scene is abandoning rigid genre boundaries. The following trends are observed in this issue:
- Hybridity — the fusion of diverse styles into new synthetic forms;
- micro genres — the emergence of narrow areas aimed at specific audiences;

The new paradigm of relations between artists and listeners currently includes the following aspects:

These transformations affect both the technical aspects of learning and the philosophical foundations of music education. Approaches to music education are changing:

- online workshops and webinars;
- Virtual tools for practice;
- algorithmic assistants in the study of theory.
10. Prospects for the development of modern music.
Modern music is in constant development, and its future is determined by a combination of technological innovation, social change, and creative experimentation. It is possible to identify the main directions of the evolution of modern music:

- Development of immersive listening formats;
- expanding the possibilities of interactive interaction;
- Synthesis of music with other forms of art in digital environments;
- the search for a balance between technology and the human component.

Modern genres of music are a dynamic and diverse field where traditional styles are intertwined with digital innovations, cultural influences, and experimentation. Currently, the key trends are the mixing of genres, the use of technology, the revival and reinterpretation of classical trends, as well as an emphasis on emotional sincerity and personalization. Let's highlight several genres of modern music, and consider examples of musical projects.

- Interactive performance — AI accompanists react to the musician's playing by adjusting the harmony and rhythm.
- Sound Synthesis — neural networks create unique timbres by simulating analog synthesizers or generating previously unseen sounds.
The influence of AI has already affected the field of music marketing. Social networks and streaming platforms actively use algorithms to recommend music to users. This significantly changes the way listeners discover new works and genres. In addition, with the development of technology, it has become possible to create music that can adapt to the listener's mood. The use of AI to analyze a person's emotional state based on their physiological data opens up a new section in music – sound therapy, where music can become a supportive tool in the treatment process.
The following conclusion can be drawn: the integration of technology into music follows three key vectors:

- Democratizing creativity — Software and online resources lower the entry threshold for aspiring musicians.
- Rethinking Interaction — AI, VR, and online platforms are changing the way music is composed, performed, and perceived.
The future of this synergy lies in the balance between technological innovation and human creativity. Technology does not replace a musician, but becomes a "smart" collaborator, expanding the boundaries of what is possible.
Chapter 2. The practical part
As part of the research, a survey was conducted among a group of people of different ages. The respondents were asked the following questions:
1. What genres of music do you prefer?
2. Are you seriously interested in music (studying at a music school)?
3. What do you use to listen to music?
4. How often do you listen to music?
1) Answers: 3 people listen rap; 6 people listen hip-hop; 2 people listen classic; 4 people listen hard metal.
2) Answers: «No»: 12 people; «Yes»: 3 people .
3) Answers: 10 people use to listen to music mobile phonesl; 3 people use to listen to music radio; 2 people use to listen to music TV.
4) Answers: 5 people listen to music every day; 7 people often listen to music; 3 people sometimes listen to music.
Conclusion
The music of the future, I think, will have a bit of the classics in it, not only in our usual performance. The classics will be rearranged for other instruments that are not yet familiar to us. There will be a separation in pop music. There will still be compositions in which the text, not the music, will play the leading role.
But there will be somewhere beautiful voices will sound. Instrumental music will also develop – abstract, in which everyone will find their own images.
But "everything new is well–forgotten old," I think that the classics will exist not only for the next hundred years, but for many centuries, no matter what new directions arise. Thanks to music, people will become kinder, more responsive and spiritually richer.
