Тема урока: “Наша планета” (“Our Planet”).

Тип урока: систематизация знаний учащихся по теме урока  

Цель урока: Активизация тематической лексики в устной речи учащихся.

Для достижения цели урока необходимо решить следующие задачи:

1. Образовательные:

формирование лексических и грамматических навыков говорения;

развитие умения читать с извлечением информации;

2. Воспитательные:

 

развитие внимания к собеседнику в процессе общения;

трепетного отношения к окружающему миру;

развитие навыков группового взаимодействия.

3. Развивающие:

совершенствование навыков связанной речи;

выполнение упражнений с опорой на зрительный ряд;

умение работать в группе и самостоятельно;

 

 

Ход урока

1 Организационный момент

Teacher: Good morning, my friends! Sit down please! I am glad to see you! Today we have many guests and we are glad to see them too.

 Let’s begin our lesson.

At the beginning of our lesson you will answer on my questions.          

T.: Who is absent?          

T.: What day is it today?                

T.: What day of the week is it today?          

 

The theme of our lesson is “Our Planet”. We live on the Earth and everything around us is a part of it. We depend on our planet, on the sun, on animals and plants around us. But now our planet, animals and people are in danger.

2. Фонетическая и речевая зарядка

Teacher: look at the blackboard I’ve prepared for you an expression is written by a famous American writer:

“The world is a fine place and worth fighting for”.

мир замечательное место, и за него стоит бороться

Read the expression and translate it.

(Ученик зачитывает слова Американского писателя, другой переводит. Далее проходит обсуждение высказывания).

Teacher:

Tell me please

What are global environmental problems?

How we can protect our nature?

What can we reduce, reuse, recycle?

But it is not big as we think.

Look at the apple. Imagine it’s our planet. I’m cutting it into 4 pieces. Three quarters (3/4) of the Earth surface is water and only 1 is land. (Режется пополам). One half of it is habitable. The rest of the land is the deserts, mountains, frozen ice-caps and other places that people cannot live in. Only 1 part gives us food and shelter. Less than 1% of water is drinkable. Now you can see! People should take care of their small Earth.

That’s why we decided to protect the environment, to save the nature, to keep the Earth clean.

I think you like to play the games; I’ve prepared for you the game Snowball. Do you know how to play? Let’s start.

P3.: I stop using the aerosol spray. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P4.: I buy milk in cartons. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P5.: I plant a tree every year in the garden. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P6.: I don’t use Chemicals in the garden. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P7.: I pick up litter as walking in the forest. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P8.: I never break glass bottles. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P9.: I don’t cut wild flowers. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P10.: I save the family’s newspaper to recycle. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P11.: I don’t use pesticides. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P12.: A don’t use alcohol. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P13.: I turn off the light when I leave the room. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P14.: I water the home flowers. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P15.: I water the lawn early in the morning. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P16.: I plant flowers in the garden. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

P17.: I never buy a fir tree to a New Year holiday. What do you do to keep the Earth clean?

Teacher:  Read the text, answer the questions and then express your own opinion about the protection of nature.

PEOPLE START POLLUTION. - PEOPLE CAN STOP IT.

The pollution of the land, air and water is the problem of civilization. It is one of the greatest dangers on the Earth. Ecological problems are deforestation, ozone holes, acid rains and the global warming.

The seas are in danger. They are filled with industrial wastes and pesticides. Every 10 minutes one kind of animal, plant or insect dies out for ever.

Air pollution is a very serious problem. In Cairo breathing the air is equivalent to smoking two packs of cigarettes a day.

Plants and factories make the greenhouse effect.

The greater problem is nuclear power stations. We all know Chernobyl tragedy. People are beginning to realize the environmental problems. They join international organizations and green parties. All states ought to save the Earth from an ecological catastrophe.

Teacher: Let’s work under the contents of the text. Answer the questions:

What are ecological problems?

Are the seas in danger?

What is the problem of civilization?

What happens every 10 minutes?

Air pollution is a very serious problem, isn’t it?

What makes the greenhouse effect?

What is the greater problem?

Do you think all states ought to save the Earth?

Summarize the text, retell it. The word stair will help you. (Учащиеся пересказывают текст, опираясь на опору).

Рефлексия

Teacher:

– Let’s do a very plain gymnastics for our necks.

– Look at the ceiling,

– Look at the floor,

– Look at the window,

– Look at the door.

Teacher: As you see, the ecological problems are dangerous not only for people but also for animals, birds and plants. They need growing space too.

Man is beginning to understand that his environment is not just his own town or country, but the whole earth. That’s why people form the organizations that work to protect the environment from harm.

Can you name the most famous of them?

 «Greenpeace»

“Travel  for Peace and Nature”  

  I think we should help the Greenpeace organization. Let’s design T-shirts telling people about ecological problems of the day. Work in your groups and design a T-shirt on these sheets of paper. Show your design to other groups and prove it.

(Каждой группе дается заготовка макета майки; учащиеся рисуют картинки и пишут лозунги. Затем каждая группа представляет свой дизайн майки).

1.Don’t make fires in the forests. As the result of the fire

we can speak about the destruction of the whole forest.

Burning makes air pollution worse.

2. Don’t pollute the air! Clean air is necessary for our health.

We need good filters at nuclear power stations, at factories

and plants, and also in cars and busses.

3. Take care of animals! Nowadays there are a lot of endangered animals: their number is so small, they can easily die out.

Teacher: Thanks a lot. There are serious ecological problems on our Earth. And now we try to exchange our opinions on the global problem how to protect our Earth, how to prevent further pollution and what necessary actions are to be undertaken.

Teacher: To sum up our discussion let’s make up the resolution of our lesson. What people should do and mustn’t do to save our planet.

Words of Advice

I can walk or use a bicycle instead of going by car.

I can't make litter with paper, cans or bottles.

I can plant more trees.

I can feed birds in winter and help them survive in the cold.

I can save energy. I can use less electricity and gas. I will turn off the lights when I leave a room.

I can clear rubbish from lakes and rivers.

I will have showers, not baths. Showers use less water.
