« Виртуальное путешествие в Лондон »

Цели:

1. Систематизировать знания по теме “Лондон”.
2. Развивать навыки монологической речи.
3. Активизировать навыки письма.

Задачи:

1. Воспитывать уважение к культуре изучаемого языка.
2. Развивать кругозор учащихся.
3. Формировать интерес к изучению языка.

Оборудование:

Мультимедийная презентация, экран, проектор, компьютер.

Ход урока:

1. Организационный момент.

Good afternoon.

How are you?

Today we have an unusual  lesson, but what kind of  lesson, you’ll tell me yourself.

2. Фонетическая зарядка.

But first we must train our tongues.

Repeat after me:

London, country, East, West, place, home, castle, Englishmen, proverbs, TheTower Bridge, The Tower of London, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey.

3. Речевая разминка.

As you know, each country has its own proverbs.

Proverbs make language more beautiful and more alive.

Proverb is the wisdom which goes from generation to generation.

Look at the blackboard.

Here you can see some English proverbs. Please, find the other half of the English proverbs.

Now I say Russian equivalents of these proverbs, and you say me the English one.

В гостях хорошо, а дома лучше             East or West home is best

Мой дом – моя крепость                          My home is my castle

Нет места лучше дома родного          There is no place like home

How do you think what about we have our lesson today?

Today we have an unusual lesson: an excursion around London.

You should be very attentive today, at the end of our lesson you will have a test “How well do you know London?”

5. Развитие навыков монологической речи.

Dear guests, we invite you to join our armchair tour.

You are welcome to London.

As you know London stands on the river Thames. (Ой, я что-то так разволновалась и забыла Лондон – столица, какой страны?)

- The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Can you show us London on the map?

- Yes, we can.

- London, the capital of GB, is a very old city. It is two thousand years old.

- Many years ago London was a small town on the Thames.

- Now London is a big port and a beautiful city with large squares and parks.

- About 7 million people live here.

1. Buckingham Palace

- It was built in 1703.There are 600 rooms.

2. Trafalgar Square

- The centre of London is Trafalgar Square.

- It is a geographical centre of London.

- At the top of the monument there is a figure of a seaman. The height of the statue is 5m. At the base of Nelson’s column there are 4 bronze lions, which were built 26 years after the construction of the column.

- Trafalgar Square is a good place to have a rest.

3. Big Ben

- You can hear the sound of Big Ben every hour in London.

- Tower Bridge is the only Thames Bridge which can be raised.

- The road over the bridge is built on two central sections.

- They open two or three times a week.

7. Hyde Park

- Hyde Park was opened in 1637. Londoners are very proud of their city, their parks, beautiful sights, customs and their famous people.

8. The Tower of London

- The Tower of London was built in the eleventh century by William the Conqueror.

- Tower is a very old building. It is nine hundred years old. The Tower of London was a fortress, a palace ,a prison and the King`s Zoo.

- The Bloody Tower is near the river.

- You don`t see blood there today.

- The Bloody Tower has a history of blood – the blood of men, women and even children.

- The White Tower is the oldest part of the Tower of London.

- Its square walls are white and very tall.
-  Now the Tower of London is the museum.

- A lot of people visit the Tower of London.

- There are always black ravens in the Tower of London.
  People look after them very well as they believe  that London will be rich while ravens live         there.

Now I want you to open your exercise-books and look at the blackboard. The task for you is to put the letters in these words in the right order. One of you will go to the blackboard and write down the words on it.

Westminster Abbey

- The Abbey is used for the coronations, royal weddings and funerals.

- There is poet’s Corner in Westminster Abbey. Here you can see tombs of Shakespeare, Burns, Byron, Darwin, Faraday, and Newton.

Buckingham Palace
