Внеклассная работа по английскому зыку.

Тема: "Британская Пасха"

Цель: способствовать повышению мотивации учащихся в обучении английскому языку, их культуры, развитию кругозора и толерантности.

Задачи: 

1. развивающие: развить навыки чтения и устного перевода, развить способность к творчеству;
2. обучающие: дать новую информацию о традициях празднования Пасхи в Британии, научить сравнивать, практиковать в выполнении письменных упражнений;
3. воспитывающие: воспитать уважительное отношение к обычаем и традициям собственного народа, воспитать терпимое отношение к обычаем и традициям другого народа.

Оснащение: запись колокольных звонов, фотографии храмов России, ИКТ оборудование, презентация по теме, призы (шоколадные яйца).

Оснащение игр и конкурсов: 7пластиковых яиц со словами внутри, из которых нужно составить предложение: Eggs are the symbols of new life; 2 корзины, 2 ручки и бумага ; 5 бумажных яиц, разрезанных пополам (5 экземпляров); 2 сковороды и 2 «блина» из бумаги; мяч и набор кеглей.

Вечеринку можно начать стихотворением А. Плещеева «Христос Воскресе!»

Teacher: Good evening, dear boys and girls! We welcome you at our Easter Party. We hope that you’ll have a nice time tonight. We’d like you to get more information about this Christian tradition, its symbols and activities. I hope you know how it is celebrated in Russia, isn’t it? But today we’ll speak about British traditions to celebrate Easter.

You’ll play, sing, and dance. But first of all a few words about the history of Easter.

Easter is a very popular holiday all over the world. Easter has no fixed date. It is held on the 1st Sunday after the date of the first full moon that occurs on or after March 21st.

"Suddenly there was a great earthquake: and the angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone from the door of the tomb and sat on it. That is why people nowadays greet each other on the Easter day by the words, "Christ is risen”. And the expected answer is, "He is risen indeed”. There are many traditions connected with this holiday.

¨ The Sunday before Easter is called Palm Sunday in England and Willow (Verbnoye) Sunday in Russia.

¨ In Roman times it was customary to welcome royalty by waving palm branches, a bit like a ticker-tape parade. So, when Jesus arrived in Jerusalem on what is now known as Palm Sunday, people welcomed him with palm branches carpeting the streets and waving them. Today, on Palm Sunday, Christians carry palm branches in parades, and make them into crosses and garlands to decorate the Church.

¨ On Maundy Thursday (ЧистыйЧетверг) Christians remember the Last Supper. Maundy Thursday is the day before Good Friday. In England the King or Queen would wash the feet of the poor on Maundy Thursday in Westminster Abbey. Gradually over the years the foot washing and the gift clothing has been replaced by specially minted Maundy money. In Britain Queen Victoria began the custom of giving specially minted money in white leather bags, with more money in small red bags instead of food.

¨ Good Friday is the Friday before Easter Sunday. On this day, Christians remember the day when Jesus was crucified on a cross. The name may be derived from ‘God’s Friday’ in the same way that good-bye is derived from ‘God be with ye (you). English people eat Hot cross buns on this day, singing a song "Hot Cross Buns”.

Ann: Well, what do we need for buns?

Ann: Granny, why do people call them hot cross buns?

Granny: Well, listen. Once, long ago in England there lived a monk. In this town there were a lot of poor families. Very often they had nothing to eat.

Jane: Even on Easter?

Granny: Yes, so he baked many buns with raisins inside and decorated them with crosses.

Ann: And why did he decorate them with crosses?

Granny: The cross has a special meaning to Christian. It represents Christ victory over death.

Jane: Who helped him?

Granny: A poor boy. He went from house to house singing a song. Do you guess what song he sang?

Jane: Oh, yes. Hot cross buns!

¨ To celebrate the arrival of spring, Easter parades often take place on Easter Sunday afternoon, where people can wear new clothes as a sign of the changing seasons, and competitions are held to find the best Easter bonnet.

¨ Traditionally, large Easter parades are held in Battersea Park, London.

¨ On Easter Sunday millions of people joyously observe Christ's resurrection. Many families go to church.

Another symbol of Easter is an Easter Tree. There are 12 eggs on the Easter Tree. Can you guess why there are exactly 12 eggs?

Easter comes and people are happy. They dance and sing songs on this holiday. Morris dancing is a traditional English form of folk dance which is also performed in other English-speaking countries such as the USA and Australia. The roots of morris dancing seem to be very old, probably dating back to the Middle Ages. In the dance men dress up in costumes with hats and ribbons and bells around their ankles. They dance through the streets.

Now we’d like to tell you about Easter symbols. They are the cross, the lamb, eggs and Easter rabbits.

¨ Christ was crucified on a cross, so the cross has come to have a special meaning to Christians. It represents Christ’s victory over death.

¨ Jesus was known as the Lamb of God (агнец божий). At one time, the Jews sacrificed a lamb during a Passover festival, and early Christians adopted this as a sign of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Lamb is now a traditional Easter meal, and cookies and cakes are often made in the shape of a lamb for Easter.

Speaker 3 The Easter Bunny or Easter Rabbit

British children look forward to Easter because they get presents on this holiday. These presents are hidden carefully and children must find them. They think that Easter Rabbit prepares these presents.

Long ago there lived an old woman who loved children very much. So she hid coloured eggs and presents in the grass. Children tried to find them. One morning they were looking for the eggs. Suddenly they saw a rabbit. The rabbit was jumping in the grass showing the children where to go. The children followed him and found eggs.

¨ Children in England believe the Easter hair brings the Easter eggs. 

¨ On the morning of Easter Sunday children wake up and find that the Easter Bunny has left baskets of candies and hidden coloured and decorated eggs for them. 

¨ The children hunt for the eggs, which have usually been hidden outside near their home.

Speaker 12 Игра называется "Hatch an egg” – «Выведи цыплёнка».

К доске приглашаются 4 человека-«наседки». Им вручается по 7 пластиковых яиц. В каждом яйце – слово. Каждая «наседка» по очереди открывает свои «яйца», читает слово, пишет его на доске. Когда все яйца открыты, «наседки» выстраивают из слов предложение, читают и переводят его.

Кто правильно составил предложение, получает приз. (Eggs are the symbols of new life.)

Speaker 13 "PancakeRaces” – Соревнования с блинами проводятся во многих городах Британии, самые известные из них- в г. Олни (Olney) в графстве Букингемшир.Происхождение этих соревнований связано со следующим событием. Одна хозяйка пекла блины, когда услышала звон церковных колоколов. Боясь, что опоздает на службу, она сразу же побежала в церковь. А когда прибежала в церковь, то увидела, что у неё в руках сковорода.

С тех пор каждый вторник на масленой неделе для хозяек устраиваются соревнования с блинами. Они должны пробежать определённое расстояние со сковородой в руке, подбрасывая на бегу блины. Им разрешается поднять блин, если они его роняют. Победительница получает книгу с молитвами и поцелуй от викария.

После соревнований все сковороды оставляются в церкви, а участницы идут в церковь на службу.

Я предлагаю вам сейчас провести подобное соревнование.

Приглашаются 2 участника. Им дают по сковороде и по блину. Участники должны пробежать расстояние, обозначенное 2 стульями, подбросив блин 3 раза. Выигрывает тот, кто прибежит первым.

Игру можно повторить для всех желающих. Победитель награждается.

Speaker 12 Следующая игра называется "Passthebasket” – «Передай корзину».

Из желающих участников формируется 2 команды. Команды из 5 человек садятся в один ряд. У первых игроков в руках по корзине. Каждому игроку даётся ручка и бумага. Задание для обеих команд одинаковое: "Draw the symbols of Easter”. Каждый игрок рисует символы Пасхи, кладёт рисунок в корзину и передаёт другому игроку. Выигрывает та команда, у которой больше правильных рисунков. Участники команды-победительницы получают призы.

Speaker 14 ‘EasterMonday’ в графстве Оксфордшир всё ещё называется ‘BallMonday’.

В этот день проводятся игры с мячом, например, футбол, гандбол. Мы вам предлагаем игру, похожую на боулинг. Вот этим мячом вам нужно сбить как можно больше кеглей. Победителя, как всегда, ждёт награда.

Speaker 15 Помимо игр с мячом в ‘Easter Monday’ очень популярны игры с водой, поэтому ‘Easter Monday’ ещё называют ‘DuckingMonday’.

Юноши и девушки обливали друг друга водой в этот день.

В Венгрии незамужних девушек юноши бросали в местный пруд. Считалось, что девушки после такого купания будут хорошими жёнами. Если же рядом не было пруда или ручья, то девушек просто обливали водой из ведра. За такое купание девушки должны были ещё даже расплатиться или крашеными яйцами, или стаканчиком бренди.

Но мы не будем сегодня обливаться водой. А вот чьё яйцо прокатится дальше, мы проверим. Такие соревнования тоже очень популярны в Британии.
