III. Тема урока, задачи.

  1. I want to draw your attention to the blackboard where the quotation from John Clarke is written : “ He that travels far knows much”. I thank these words can be the motto of our lesson. Let’s try to prove that Clarke was really right. What is it travеling?

It means that you more from one place to another:

                      you can see a lot of interesting buildings, castles, monuments

        and so one;

        you get acquainted with traditions and customs of another

                countries;

 you meet different people and make friends and traveling helps

us to study foreign languages alive.

  1. Why did I begin our lessons from these words? Because we shell make an imaginary trip to London.

So, the topic of our lessons is : “A visit to London”.

IV. Brainstorm.

- By the way what do you know about London?

Well, I see that you know much about the capital of Great Britain and Northern    Ireland. And of course all these thing are worth seeing. But how can we get there? We can cross Europe and get London by train.

Don’t forget that Great Britain is a sea country. So we can go there by ship. But I think that the plane is the best, because we can quickly get from Moscow and London by airplane. It’s safe, fast and comfortable.

VI. Раздача и объяснение заданий.

- And so, today we shall visit London and some places of interest there. We shall go there by plane.

In order to go by plane we need a pilot, a stewardess and passengers.

Kolya, will you be a pilot? This cad is for you:

“ You are a pilot. Greet the passenger, name your company and yourself. Wish them a pleasant flight”.

Ilsiyar, you are stewardess. This card is for you:

“You are a stewardess. Greet the passengers, name yourself. Give the information about the plane (speed, high, temperature). Wish a pleasant flight”.

No doubt that we need a guide who meets us in London.

Sasha, you are a guide. This card is for you:

“You are a guide. Greet guests and invite them on an excursion.”

You, Ann and Ann are tourists. This card is for you:

“You are a tourist. It’s your first visit to London.

You Ann were there some time ago. It is your second visit of the city.

You Ann ask to recommend what to visit and to see in the city.

You Ann give the telephone number of the travel agency in London”.

You, Kolya, are travel agent. This carol is for you. “You are a travel agent and eou promise to organize a guide”.

Pilot.Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. “British Airways” are glad to meet you I’m your pilot. Mr Smith, and I wish you a pleasant flight.

Stewardess. Let me introduce myself. I’m Miss Flint, a stewardess. Welcome to our plane. Our flight lasts 3 hours and we shall land London at 12 o’clock. The speed of the plane is 700 km/hour. The height is 2000 metres. The temperature outside is 12 degrees below zero. The temperature aboard is 20 degrees above zero. «British Airways» wish you a pleasant flight.

Tourist 1. Is this your first visit to London?

Tourist 2. No, it isn’t. I was in London two years ago. And what about you?

Tourist 1. Oh. It’s my first visit London is the city of my dreams. Look! Look! We are flying above the sea.

Tourist 2. It’s not the sea. It’s La-Manche and English people call it the English Channel. We are lucky to see the sea, because the weather is fine.

Tourist 1. What can you recommend me to see in London?

Tourist 2. How many days will you stay in London?

Tourist 1. 3 days.
