             Урок-игра по теме « Лондон»:

Цель урока: Совершенствование социокультурной компетенции. Систематизировать и обобщить знания, умения и навыки по теме «Лондон».

Познавательный аспект: Формирование лингвострановедческой компетенции.

Развивающий аспект: Формирование самостоятельно и мотивированно организовывать свою познавательную деятельность (от постановки цели до получения результата);работать с различными источниками информации и делать соответствующие выводы; формирование умения работать в группе, используя технологию обучения сотрудничеству; развитие умения проектной деятельности.

Воспитательный аспект: воспитание уважения к иноязычной культуре и интереса к изучению поликультуры на основе ИКТ.

Учебный аспект: развитие понимания на слух новой информации ,формирование умения соблюдать логику парного и группового рассуждения при выполнении творческих заданий; совершенствование навыков говорения.

Оборудование: мультимедиапроектор, компьютер, презентация, раздаточный материал.

                                                Ход урока

1 Орг. момент Т:Good morning! Let me introduce myself. My name is Svetlana Stanislavovna and I will be your teacher today. But not only your teacher,also your travel guide.Our lesson is unusual, because we are going to make a trip to the capital of Great Britain.What is the capital of Great Britain? You are right-London.

The aims of our lesson are: to get acquainted with English people and their capital,to watch London’s sights and to know more about London,to revise English grammar and vocabulary,to check home reading.

Before we start our trip,you should go through the custos and write down your names and aims of your trip to London.Complete the sentences:  My name is...

                                                            I’m going to visit London to see(the sightseeings)

We will go to London by ship.But before we land in London,we shouldn’t forget about practising phonetics.Listen and repeat after me:

3 The Game “See Battle”

T: While we are going to London, I suggest you to play the game “See Battle” with me.You know that there are many bad ships in the see.You must kill them to get London.

You should name the letter in the first line, the second line and so on ,find out the ships and doing some exersises,kill them.Have you understood me? Let’s start.

  1. Tell the names of these buildings/sights/famous people.(Big Ben,the Houses of Parliament,Westminster Abbey,the Tower of London,the National Gallery,Trafalgar Square,Queen Elizabeth II,Prinsess Diana)
  2. Make up the English words using the parts of the words(London,square,Big Ben,bridge,England,museum)
  3. Name the places of interest on the map of London(St Paul’s Cathedral,  the Globe Theatre,London Eye, the Houses of Parliament,the Buchingham Palace)
  4. Fill in the missing words of the British National anthem.

T:Listen to the texts and write down what sightseeing it is.

  1. It is a clock in the tower and it’s a big bell.You can hear it every hour.(Big Ben)
  2. You can see it from the river Thames.It is very old and has a long history. In different times it was used as a fortress, a prison and a palace,but now it is a museum. It is not just one building. It has several  towers,for example the White Tower and the Bloody Tower.(the Tower of London)
  3. It is symbol of England.The coronation of all British Kings and Queens took place there.Some famous people are also buried there. (Westminster Abbey)
  4. It is a place,where the British Government sits.It is situated not far from Westminster Abbey.(the Houses of Parliament)
  5. It is famous bridge across the Thames.(the Tower Bridge)
  6. It is a central square of London and it is famous all over the world.( Trafalgar Square)
  7. It is a palace where the Queen lives when she is in London.(the Buchingham Palace)
  8. It has really bloody history because many men, women and even children were killed there.( the Bloody Tower)
  9. It has famous wax works museum.(Madam Tussaud’s Museum)

11.Make up the  projects.

The first group: the theme is the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.You should choose the sentences for your theme and read them.

The second group- TheTower of London and  TheTower Bridge.

I. This big palace is the most famous building in the world.The Houses of Parliament has been the seat of the Government since the early of the 11th century.

The building is 280 metres long.There are more than 1000 rooms in it.Big Ben is the biggest clock Tower.It is 320 feet high tower.This clock tells the time since 1859.It is the symbol of London.

II.The Tower of london has a long story..Here there is a Tower Bridge. It is the most famous bridge in London.It was opened in 1894.It was built in the Gothic style to blend with the nearby Tower of London.It is symbol now and a great tourist attraction
