Методическая разработка заседания клуба «Современный мир» на тему: «Наша страна - Россия»

Данное заседание проводится в форме видеожурнала.        

Такой вид работы активизирует мыслительную и речевую деятельность учащихся, развивает их интерес к  своей стране. Кроме этого у обучающихся  расширяется как активный, так и пассивно-потенциальный словарь. Обучающимся было дано опережающее задание подготовить одну страницу журнала. И немаловажно, что учащиеся получают удовлетворение от такого вида работы.

Цели:

Образовательная:

- Расширить и углубить знания по теме «Россия»

Развивающая:

- Вырабатывать навыки языкового общения студентов и раскрывать их индивидуальные творческие способности

- Развивать навыки самостоятельной работы

Воспитывающая: 

- Формирование гордости за свою страну

- Формирование потребности и способности к коллективной работе в команде

Russia is our country

1. The  Russian Federation is the largest country in the world. It occupies about one - seventh of the earth’s surface.  Russia is situated on two continents: Europe and Asia

. The country is washed by 12 seas of 3 oceans: the Pacific, the Arctic and the Atlantic. In the south Russia borders on China, Mongolia, Korea, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Azerbaijan. In the west it borders on Norway, Finland, the Baltic States, Belorussia, the Ukraine. It also has a sea-border with the USA

2. Russia is a parliamentary republic. The Head of State is the President. The legislative powers are exercised by the Duma

Today the flag of Russia is a three - coloured banner. This flag has three wide stripes on it. The stripes are white, blue and red. These colours  symbolize: white – noble and sincere, blue – honest and devoted ,red colour - love and bravery.

A  national  emblem is the two-headed eagle , the most ancient symbol of Russia.

3. The beauty of Russian Nature! There is no other  country in the world where such a variety of scenery and vegetation can be found.

Over the fast territory of the country there are different types of climate, from arctic in the north to subtropical in the south.

The land of Russia varies very much from forests to deserts, from high mountains to deep valleys. We have steppes in the south. We have plains and forests in the central region, tundra and taiga in the north, highlands and desert in the east.  

Mountains There are several mountain chains on the territory of the country: the Urals, the Caucasus, the Altai and others. The largest mountain chain, the Urals, separates Europe from Asia.

Russia is a land of long rivers and deep lakes.

Rivers. There are over  two million rivers in our country. Volga is Europe’s biggest river. It runs into the Caspian Sea. The main Siberian rivers – the Ob, the Yenisei and the Lena – flow from south to north. The Amur in the Far East flows  into the Pacific Ocean.

Lakes  Russia is rich in beautiful lakes. 

The largest lakes are Ladoga and Baikal. Baikal is the deepest lake in the world and its water is the purest on earth.

Forests. Russia has one sixth of the world’s forests. They are concentrated in the European north of the country, in Siberia and in the Far East.

The famous  birch is one of the symbols of Russia!

Аnimal world    The plant and animal worlds of our country are also very rich. There are a lot of different animals, birds and plants in our forests, fields and mountains.

The animal world in the north includes the walrus, the seal, the polar bear and the polar fox. In the central zone there are a lot of wolves and foxes, hares and squirrels.

4. The Russian Federation is rich in natural and mineral resources. Russia is very rich in oil, coal, iron ore, natural gas, copper, nickel, and other mineral resources.

5. The current population of Russia is about 146 million people.

More than 100 nationalities live in our country

The European part of the country is densely peopled, and most population lives in cities.

There are more than 1000 towns and cities in Russia. There are 14 cities with the population of more than one million. They are Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Omsk, N. Novgorod, Samara, Kazan, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Ufa, Rostov, Krasnoyarsk, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg.

6.  Volga  is the longest river in Europe. There are many beautiful old towns – both big and small – on its banks. Practically all of them are interesting places, famous for their history, Russian traditions and folk crafts. They are: Togliatti, Ulyanovsk, Volgograd, Cheboksary,  Saratov, Astrakhan, Kazan, Yaroslavl, Nizhniy Novgorod and many small old Russian towns.

7. Moscow is the capital and the biggest city with the population of about 11 million people. It’s the largest political, scientific, cultural and industrial centre. It’s one of the oldest Russian cities.

It was founded by Prince Yuri Dolgoruki in 1147.  The city stands on the Moskva River.

Moscow is one of the most popular tourist destinations.

The heart of Moscow is Red Square, the central and the most beautiful square in the city.

Here you can see the Cathedral of St. Bazil the Blessed , erected by architects  Postnik and

Barma to commemorate  Russia’s conquest of the Kingdom of Kazan in 1552. It is a masterpiece  of Russian architecture. Tourists can see the monument to Minin and Pozharsky in front of it.

The heart of Moscow is the Kremlin. Its 20 towers attract tourists from all over the world.

The main tower is the Spasskaya Tower. The famous clock called Kuranty strikes on it.

8. Saint Petersburg was founded in 1703 by Peter the Great and he called it “The window on the west”. Is the second largest city of the country with the population of about 5 million. Now it is called the cultural capital of the country. There are many famous monuments, palaces, churches and museums in the city. They are the Winter Palace, the Hermitage, the Russian Museum

The main street in St. Petersburg is Nevsky Prospect. There are a lot of old beautiful buildings in it.

The city is called the Northern Venice because there are 65 rivers, arms and canals in it. That is why there are a lot of bridges in the city. St. Petersburg is famous for its beautiful white nights.

The city attracts thousands of tourists from every corner of the world every day. They like to visit Peterhof near  Saint Petersburg.

9. Nizhny Novgorod  is my native town . It is an old Russian city, it is 792 years old. It was founded in 1221 by Yuri Vsevolodovich . It stands on the banks of two large Russian rivers – Volga and Oka. Nizhniy Novgorod is the capital of the Federal Volzhskiy region. It is also a cultural and educational centre.

The population of our city is about 1.300.000 people.

There are many universities, colleges and other educational institutions in the city.

Nizhniy Novgorod is often visited by tourists both from Russia and abroad. In our city they can find many places to visit, they can see monuments, many old buildings, the Kremlin, numerous churches and cathedrals.

Nizhniy Novgorod is a beautiful and green city. I love my city and I’m happy to live in it.

10. Sochi - a resort city in Russia, located on the Black Sea coast , Krasnodar region, at a distance of 1,700 km from Moscow. Population of the city is about 368000 people. Many people  spend their vocations at the seaside here.
